Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yay!!! Can't wait :-).

Will be armed with a camera, and my new phone lets me record movies that last for longer than 30 seconds :-). Would have brought some of my laundry round to yours but I have jeans and towels to do and I really don't fancy lugging them home as they're heavy when wet! Lol. Will be great to use a proper Servis where the door and soap dispenser doesn't fall off in your hand ;-).

hey!
thanks for clarifying that mike! i used the delicate programme the other nite on some darks. very good it was too.

how does the coolwash button work? does it lower it by 10degrees or something like that? how bout the bio button too? that just extend the cycle?

Options

COOL WASH

When selected with any main programme, will reduce the temp to 30d only, and increases the washtime by 4 times the programme length....Its an economy wash for use with cool water detergents and wash load not to heavily soiled...

"BIO" BIOLOGICAL WASH

This option is designed for use with Ariel Automatic & Bold 3. The heating process is in two stages,

Stage 1: 10 min gentle wash up to 30d, and held for ten mins.

Stage 2: Staged heating up to programme temp, use with all programmes except woolens. Basically the first profile wash.

Cheers, Mike

Quartz Power

Darren love the pics, i've just picked up a Quartz 1300 which is the later model just doing a Bio wash now. Haven't tried the Multi fabric one yet. Will post some pics soon and try and do a video. The spin is great on the 1300 goes up in 3 stages and has some form of spin balancing before it starts the spin. starts off very slow tumble and then up to normal speed before lanching itself suddenly into a 600 spin then 1000 then 1300. Great.

Hey Sparkcymru!
that machine sounds very good! i tell ya my machine is extremely solid on spin. it hasnt moved v much like my logic likes to now & again. i look forward to seein some pics & a video of that! very lucky! im running the multi fabric cycle now cant really see what its like because its so cold out in my garage i came in for a coffee to warm up a little! lol did notice that it started high level wash with short tumbles. looks entertaining!

Multi Fabric Wash

Hi Darren

Yes its designed as an economy wash, will start a gentle wash at 30d followed by a "SOAK" n "Tumble" which lasts 4 hrs, there are 3 ways to use this:

1. Washing a mixed load of lightly soiled clothes at low temp.

2. As a Super Pre-Wash.

3. As an Economy Wash with a low temp main wash programme. ie, instead of whites 95, you do the multi fabric as a pre-wash and then a 40d wash...

These machines do tend to be stable.

Does this model go straight up to 1000rpm into the final spin at the end??

Ooooooooooooooooooooh i see! makes sense. bet will try that on whites one day.

Yep certainly does go straight to 1000rpm which is fun:D

I couldnt believe how effective the cotton spin was on my sheets & whites load i did!

multi fabric

I wondered why it was flashing on the multi fabric and taking forever, of course without an instruction book had no idea of what it was doing.I've had to disconnect the fabric softner fill valve today cause the machines blowing the electrics with this connected. was in the middle of rinse cycle and we we're plunged into darkness lol. Blew everytime the on switch was pushed so i investigated. Its not the valve itself cause i've swapped em and it trips still so must be wiring or a circuit somewhere. Hope i can fix it but using 2 in 1 powder so not serious.

Electrics

Hi Steven

Yours is the 1300 Washer Dryer isnt it??

Check the wiring loom particularly near the heater box, there was a retro fit on these machines as there wasnt a lot of play within the wiring harness, and some wires where breaking and shorting with the stress, particularly if its been moved without the transit brackets etc..

Darren

What makes these machines sturdier than Hoovers etc is that the tub shocks are mounted to a rigid base. You can actually take the cabinet away and leave the drum mounted on the base, like the ASKO.

Hey Hey,
Sparkcymru: I had a similar experience with my hoover newwave washer/dryer. kept sendin me into darkness turned out it was the heating element on the dryer causing that...of which i need a new one. only problem i have now is it wont hit 1300...so i call it a hoover newwave 800 lol.

Mike!-Thanks for explaining that mike. that would explain why it balances perfectly pretty much everytime! i mean my hoover logic is really sturdy. But you'd think the quartz has a balance sensor the way it spins..very similar amount of vibration as my AEG 74640!

Also Is my quartz suppost to flash the wash light when its soaking on multi fabric? i thought it was broken! sent me into a panick lol!

nickuk!- hey thanks for the comments, heres hopin it doesnt give me any grief too! *touch wood* its gonna be fine. only thing is on the 2nd rinse of my whites load yesterday it decided it wanted to leak a little. didnt do it again though. what machine(s) do you have nick?

Darren

quartz flashing light

Darren yes my quartz has the light flashing on mixed fabric load too so thats normal.I'll get round to looking at the wiring this week to see what's shorting. will do some pics on Tuesday of it in action. Hafta come up to see your machines sometime Darren. I haven't seen a Hoover New wave in action and always wanted to.
Steven

Hi Steven.
Sounds like a plan. Its certainly fun to see it spinning the clothes at 400rpm with a tub full of water :-D i'm hoping to have it running right soon.

look forward to seein your pics :D

Uh oh...Help me sum1? Mike may know...i got a fault code thrown up on the display of my quartz "2 F"? what & why is this?!?! it also showed end though i dont think it completed the cycle. I ran a seperate spin which was fine.

Darren

Fault Codes

Hi Darren

Codes are:

F1 = Water Temp Circuit Faulty

F2 = Machine Takes Too Long To Fill, Check taps on fully, check hoses are not kinked, house pressure may be too low.

F3 = Not Pumped Water Out, Faulty pump or outlet hose kinked

F4 - Motor running too fast or slow, press cancel and hold to pump water out.

F5 & 6 = Faulty Heater Circuit

Sounds like its not able to fill, what programme did you have it on??

Do you have both hoses connected, even with a Y piece if its cold fill??

Mike
