Hi guys,

Well I found this Panasonic NA-168VG3 8kg 1600rpm washer on eBay half an hour away from where we live.

I'm amazed! It has a massive drum, a silent inverter motor and 5 recirculation jets!! It uses lots of sensing technology only including a very good water level sensor. The cool feature is the 3D washing system which adjusts the tumble speed depending on the size of the load. Heavy loads get a faster tumble and slower for light loads.

It wasn't too fussy on spin and was very quiet on 1600rpm!

We plan to buy a matching heatpump dryer brand new as I wouldn't know where to start fixing a broken heatpump!

Wish we could get these in the US.  Very nice set of features/specifications you listed.  I would imagine Panasonic would be better quality than Samsung.

Had one

The NA148VG4. Best washer ever. Fast, efficent, verry clean, perfect rinsing. Bit fuzzy on spinning, but even spins were perfect.
I found that, though the Eco wash-cycle was dissapointing, the eco rinse and final spin delivered excellent results! Rinse were low water level, longer and had a tad more recirc, and the spin was the same as short spin, but held the max speed longer.
The drum-lifters caused some tangeling, though. Which made spinning even worse.
I loved the delicate and wool cycle. Both verry gentle and effective.
The jets tend to block easy, and removing fluff can be a pain.
Ours broke after 1 1/2 years. The board blew out and Panasonic did not cover it. Sadly.
To note: I found out that the bords are not supposed to be exchanged. They are one unit (Control front, PCB and Inverter). So get a good surge protector!
Descale often as well. We took ours apart before Christmas and it was a lime-scale mess. No mold or residue, just limescale.
If you need absurdly good rinsing, use the big items/curtains cycle. You won't belive the amounts of water.
Let me know what you think about the cycle selection. I always loved the choice of cycles, though, some were rather indifferent.
Best wishes
Henrik

Henrik: I'm glad you liked the machine it is unfortunate that you didn't get the life out of it you expected!

I'm looking forward to trying the skincare programme to see if that gives good rinsing! I was impressed with the standard cotton rinsing though!

Skincare

Yeah, just as perfect as any cycle!
The Skincare main wash is a bit longer (it only holds 4kg but runs about as long as the cottons cycle). Rinse levels a tad above Cottons Rinse+ (this cycle in contrast to the standard cottons only tops up water levels and extends both rinses by about 2-3 minutes) and even longer rinses. Further, its preset to 3 rinses.
BTW I noticed that Big Items is labeled bedding on yours. Strange how they changed the translation...

Thanks, it really rinses well, the 6th Sense is great, it detects how dirty the rinse water is, and if necessary adds another rinse or goes to high level (can be higher than this) not bad for a £250 machine!

I do love how quiet the Panasonic is though, may next machine will have a silent motor! Hopefully a Bosch Logixx. :)

I had planned to get a top of line bosch set until I stumbled upon the panasonic! Yes those new whirlpools look abit of a bargain for the price!

I love the 5 jets on this I never know where to look 😂👏

I washed a fairy full load last night and it picked up the tumble speed nicely! I'm going to wash the dog beds shortly, they get rather heavy when wet so it could be interesting to see how it adapts the cycle speeds and water levels.
