My sad story

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Maybe you could run your original business on the side. That's what I do.If I sold used appliances as my only income,I wouldn't last 6 months. So I drive a truck to make a living, and the appliance part pretty much holds it's own, with a little left for me.Something to think about.
Whatever direction you turn,I know you'll give it 110%,and that's all anyone can ask for.

Saveable

I've been trying to think of things to save the business. You might have already done these things or not, but here goes. Some are little things, somea re large.

Have you applied for an SBA loan?

Are you putting those little stickers on every appliance that you repair?

Are there magnetic signs on all vehicles driven?

Did you advertise in the "bar rags"?

Are there business cards in all the places in all the other businesses in the complex where your business is?

Post "fringe ads". These are the type of ads where one makes up a poster describing the service, then puts the phone number/webside address on little strips that prospective customers can be tear off of the poster.

A lot of places have bulletin boards where people post their businesa cards.

Are you a licensed electrician? Here's a scenario. Say you go on a call and find that there's nothing wrong with the appliance, but that the outlet it's plugged into is fried/worn out. You could then offer to replace the outlet for much less than calling an electrician.

Don't have the common practice of a "fixed" service call fee. Make it flexible. If you get there and find that it's nothing but a sock stuck inthe pump and is a 10 minute fix, charge them less than the "standard" fee.

Keep an eye out for doing little "perks" i.e. if you get ofered a drink, and you notice that the light in the refrigerator is burned out, replace it fo them free. People remember thigs lke that.

Appeal to the"Green" side of things with sloganas like "Keep that better made quality appliace out of the landfill"

Is there competion where you are at? Scope them out and see what you can do better than they do.

Hand business cards out like candy.

Join other local merchants in those mailings that offer carpet cleaning, maids, optical work, yard work, etc.

David: Now that is a MAN.

Dennis thank your for YOUR inspirations.

Here is a mantra I use frequently:

From the Lord God of my being, I bless myself and call forth into law that my wants and needs are taken care-of and I have great abundance.

and here is my own personal addition to that rather "standard" mantra

I am happy, I am healthy I am well-adjusted. WIth each day that passes my life is better.

AMEN (so be it.)

Remember you ARE what you THINK you are... all blessing will flow with positive thoughts...

Love,
Steve
