Don't I wish! No,this is a vintage 'fridge i picked up today. I saved it from a fate worse than the krusher,it was going to be turned into a smoker!

Pretty much complete,except for the drawers,that are missing.I think I have some substitutes.Haven't plugged 'er in,the wiring looks a little dangerous.I'm guessing late 30's vintage. Love the deco look!

Check the tag, is it freon or sulphur dioxide? I wouldn't want a sulphor dioxide fridge in my house, if it leaks out you could wake up dead.

Looks post WWII to me, I would guess it's freon 12, but please check the tag and be sure.

What a find! What a potential oxymoron; a refrigerator/smoker! We had a Gibson when I was growing up, but it wasn't that vintage or that lovely! The deco style is beautiful!

Hi That same refrigerator is in my parents basement, theirs has a glass freezer locker, instead of porcelain, it still works and the bottom drawer still slides in and out, they were married in Jan 1949, not bad looking either, no sulfur in that unit, I believe its R-12

Got a few unique pieces today.Got the Gibson,got the 806(which is spoken for),also got a working Coldspot Spacemaster 'fridge,in Coppertone.Spacemasters have a tiny freezer located in the lower corner of the inside.It's buried in the front of the truck,a few pic's to come.
I'm not going to plug the Gibson in,until I go through the wiring,it's original,and looks to be in poor shape.Did anyone besides GE use sulphur dioxide? I thunk they were the only ones.I know the early Frigidaires used a Freon,not sure which one.

Got the ol' gal rewired this morning,so I could see if it cools.A little noisy,but cools great! Still have to rewire the circuit for the light,but the rest was a breeze.Sealed system is R12,BTW.
There was a date of March 24,1940 stamped inside the relay.Pretty much the vintage I was thinking.

Those things won't die. My grandpas' 1948 GE ran all the way up until Hurricane Katrina. And probably could be saved and run again. But I'm sure it's in a big junk pile by now. Those old ice boxes were awesome.
