What are these?
Apparently the washer, "doesn't complete the last cycle."
Snow cone impeller design, wonder how good it washers.

oh come on.....everyone knows these are Calypso's.....one of a kind....always loved that color...

one of the best first TL HE machines out there for outstanding clothing care....that's why I have two of them....

which model number is it?.....if its having issues, most likely KQO or KQ1

That's right! I thought it looked familiar. Totally forgot about these they come up so infrequently.
What are common problems with this model?
Is the "Collapso" moniker deserved?

I found an early(~2000)calypso at the dump in 2004-salvaged the pump,control panel and a couple other parts:when I examined the pump,it was locked up because of stringy material wound up in it...The early pump is basicly the same turbine type pump as used in DD washers,except has it's own ~1/10 HP,~1600 RPM split capacitor motor on it-runs during the wash cycle spraying the load,reverses for drain.Later machines have a smaller,~3400 RPM,european made pump-also bi-directional turbine,and apparently more resistant to winding up stringy debris.On later machines,the center of the washplate looks like a torx bit instead of a snowcone.I have heard of calypsos having u-joint problems and electronics getting a static charge and not working until the charge dissipates...Super cool and very good machines

A lot of people on here like them- and I am sure they know how to make them work right. But back when Sears was big these were being returned like gifted items. The sales floor had more returned Calypsos then for sale items. Maybe it was just a local fluke.

Or maybe like the Edsel. The horse collar bumper and grille and push button shift, or rotating speedometer hub wasn't enough to make it "better" than a regular Mercury or Ford at a higher price.

People didn't understand how they worked or how to use them properly.  I've had arguments with people on other boards who believed info from clueless service techs (or misunderstood what they were told), for example that the machine rinses in the same water used for washing.  Seriously?  It's obvious by listening to it run that the machine pumps water out the drain hose multiple times through the course of a cycle.

I know....can you imagine, just drop clothes into a machine, that will bounce them into place...almost fool proof....

yet when the Cabrio came out, it required loading in quadrants evenly around the tub, leaving the center open.....

that must have blew some peoples minds !!!....of what little they have...

Found a Calypso for sale that apparently leaks some water. Any usual suspect locations where such leaks develop?

I've never used one, but they sure look fun to use. I like the wash action. I wouldn't mind having one.
