WASHER & DRYER Brand
WCI 1970s junk, this was when WCI laundry appliances often did not work even when they were new out of the box. My brother Jeff hooked up a new dryer like this and when he hit the start button the entire machine violently started walking across the floor, this with no clothes in it, and yes I said dryer, not washer LOL.
Dryer fabric softeners originally came out in an airasol spray can, they even still used Freon style fluorocarbons. these sprays were supposed to be sprayed on the circumference of the dryer drum before the clothing was added to the dryer, but most people just sprayed them directly into the dryer drum.
These sprays literally DESTROYED hundreds of thousands of dryers, they caused severe rusting of dryers that had painted drums and bulkheads [ which is what prompted WP and other companies to start powder coating dryer drums ],and clogged air passages and fires in all types of dryers, for years after and though this day most dryer fabric softeners say on the label that they won't harm dryers when used according to instructions. Owners manuals for dryers also usually state [ if you use a softener in our dryer be sure it is labeled as being safe to use in a dryer ].
There were a lot of problems with products like Cling-Free, the Cling-Free paid for a lot of dryer repairs and even replacement dryers in the late 1970s into the 80s.
