We've been kicking this around for about a year now.
I think it's for a dryer but we did get an ancient electric stove from the 20's that had bake elements like this.

Any idea of what machine it's for or any part numbers for it?

Geez, my first instinct is saying Westinghouse (photo below is from my Canadian '53), but it could also be for one of the early 50s Whirlpool/Kenmore dryers (the ones that had a tubular shield for the element).   If it's the latter, I'd be interested!  I've got a '51 Kenmore dryer that looks like a train wreck and may need this...

Kevin, you are correct - the GE Combos used calrod elements.  I'd have to guess the Philco-Bendix did, too but I've only ever torn into a GE... so far!!
