Hi all, I am having what about every 2-3 years comes, ie a moth infestation of cabinets, wardrobes,
.This is a problem that we had even before I was born, and that everyone who lives in this neighborhood have, we live near bushes and trees, and after awhile moths finds their way and decide to make of our wardrobes their home, thus resulting in nasty larvaes causing holes in our clothes....
During the years we have tried everything , but we found out that the only thing that works with us is the old and deat naphtalene.....
Product, that now unfortunately is banned for sale in this silly country.....well, not country...Union, European Union, that hope italy will soon abandon.
You can still find camphor tablets but not the naphtalene balls, while camphor keeps them away and works for awhile we found out that they soon come back, naphatene indeed kills them alll and we can stay without them for some years....
Well, I need help....
I have finished my supply that I usually buy every time I go to USA, I bought a packet of moth balls from UK some months ago, that claimed being 99,5 pure naphtalene, but they were a swindle as they were the kind that is "cut" with a chalky stuff that simply will not evaporate, a filler.....when naphtalene in them is evaporated they will crumble and will result in a chalky powder sticking to everything you have stored with them...and they just are not strong like the real "pure" naphtalene balls.
I could find the same things in our local chinese boutique, that for some reasons they keeep selling indisturbed, but it ain't the real thing, they're the same of the british ones I bought...
Years ago I have ordered some Enoz moth balls from a lady in Texas, but I could see that now she raised the prices so much and really cannot pay that much....ebay is the only source through I can purchase them...
I looked to have it purchased by the case at dollar tree through the "my american shopper" service, the one I use to purchase from the USA, but it will not work since the sale of moth balls is forbiden to California, where this service is based, State, that apparently prohibit the sale of naphtalene just like here...
So....I would ask if there is someone so kind to ship me 2 or 3 boxes of the stuff, of which I would pay of course purchase, shipping and bother through paypal....
Just do not want to pay that much they ask on ebay for a thing you find in a dollar store...,and that could ship in a small parcel post box....Or envelope....
I hope someone could help me....or give alternative products to try.....but I tried everything, and nothing seems to work just like the old and dear naphtalene does...
Thanks....

Yes, I used to do that, not principally for moths though, we have lots of lavender growing at the farm every year, love it, also have a couple of bowls at home kinda like, pot pourri not sure how much it works though, perhaps a bland repellent , anyway I am sure it won't kill them, I suppose it has the same use of cedar oil.....just repellent, I found it not working at all anyway...
I need something that kills them anyway now....I have tried many products during the time, , Raid, Orphea et...all chemicals and naturals, but they does not work like naphtalene.... They soon return... I think they does not kill them all...
I cant move my furniture as it is a whole block as tall as the ceiling, (customed built), I think they makes their nest behind it...
I have gotten some camphor spray tonight, and sprayed it all over.... but I need the proven weapon now.... i know camphor will not work, never did, like all the others...
Luckily all my good regular stuff is sealed in vacuum storage bags now (got so fat in the last year, shitty period) ready for weight loss which is doing great anyway.... Need to debel them before it's time to get out all my regular fit clothes... Which is gonna happen in a month or so (just need too loose other 8 kg)....
Now have just the few things in wardrobes that fits me, alyong with a couple cheap new ones, but need to get them out asap anyway, today just found 3 new holes in one of the 5 larger size sweaters Ihave , and t shirts, all of them have an hole or two....
Is not an S.O.S situation...but it will become when I'll reach again my regular fit...

Try with bay (laurel) leaves...

Bay (laurel) trees are very common in my country and it's very easy to get a bagfull of leaves, everybody knows someone who has a laurel tree in their home, or their weekend house. Laurel leaves are the absolute best natural method of keeping moths away from all of your clothing, mainly clothes made of virgin wool. My family has done this for ages, results are 100% failproof. Absolute no chemicals needed! Just distribute them randomly in all of your chests, wardrobes, every place you store your clothes. The smell is very pleasant also!

I hope this helps,
Emilio

Try chrysanthemum flowers

Google chrysanthemums - they are a commercial source of insecticides. I'm sure recipes exist for a home brew if you want a liquid spray. In college, we sprinkled the dried flowers behind furniture and appliances to repel cockroaches and it worked.

I used moth balls before but they are so hard to get because those tiny little legs are so hard to spread apart!
