Need 1950s GE Appliances

Hello Everyone
I'm searching for a '56 (or close) GE dishwasher or Washer/Dryer combo. I'm in the process of installing my "new" two tone GE kitchen from 1956 in pink and turquoise and need those two items to make it perfect. If anyone has any leads, please let me know. Thank you!!

Id like to see some pictures of your kitchen remodel. Im involved in a renovation of a 1956 ranch which I plan to furnish period. Would like to see your ideas and layout.

So Chris, will these 60 year old appliances be just to complete the "stepped through a time-portal" look of your kitchen, or do you plan to actually use them for your daily laundry and dish cleaning needs?    Because that would be unrealistic.

 

Reality check: These <span style="font-size: 12pt;">appliances are 60 years old if/when you find them, so </span><span style="font-size: 12pt;">don't expect your local appliance repair shop to come work on them (because they won't) when something goes wrong.    Also,</span> don't expect to find any spare parts anywhere, as they no longer exist.

In the shoppers square section I believe there is a complete 50's kitchen if I recall its G.E., which was listed just a few days ago.

I sincerely hope that you able to locate some vintage GE machines!

Just saying from my experience with this community...please ....do not expect a " casserole " and your dream machines to appear anytime soon on your driveway!

I suggest you might want to talk with local appliance dealers, thrift stores, metal scrap dealers....

If possible find some pictures of the machines that you wish to locate and post on Craigslist, local websites, etc.

I have learned you can only depend on yourself when it comes to finding your " dream machines" !

I will keep my eyes open for any vintage GE machines that I might come across in the future!

Thanks all for the replies. No, I don't expect to be able to use the machines daily or even find them soon, just wanted to put it out there. I will post some pictures in a couple weeks.

I have a 59 GE dishwasher. You'll have to do some repair work, but it's mostly there. I will give it to you for free. If things go as planned, I will be making a trip through WV in a few weeks on the way to Cincinnati. Send me an email and we'll work out the details. I'll keep you posted.
