The surface range light on my early to mid 60s Hotpoint Range, model RB332-D burned out and I cannot figure out how to remove it. The bulb is a fluorescent tube and I have tried everything I can think of to gently remove it, but it is not moving! I don't want to break anything, so I figured I'd see if anyone can tell me how to remove the bulb. I never thought I would actually have to get help changing a light bulb, lol! I've included pictures for reference.

It does not appear that the hood over the lamp is hinged, so one has to assume all servicing is from the front.  A similar GE range includes these instructions for re-lamping:

"The fluorescent lamp illuminating the work surface is easily removable.  Place fingers under each end of lamp; press upward and roll bottom of lamp away from you.  It will fall into the palms of your hands.  To replace, lift lamp into the socket, gently roll toward front of range until it stops.  Then roll lamp upwards and toward front of range until it clicks into place."

Hopefully this helps.

Need HELP Changing Hotpoint Range Fluorescent Light

Hi Lawrence, Thanks for the help! I just tried those directions and I still could not get the light to budge. There is a screw on each side on the top. Maybe those need to be removed? That seems like a lot to change the light out though. I don't want to start removing screws if it is not necessary.

Removing the screws shouldn't be required, but it's possible that the bulb has been in there for such a long time that grease has built up around the sockets.  It might make it easier if the hood were removed, give it a try and be sure to hold onto those screws!
