Need help with motor bearings/noise on Maytag A110 washer

Last week I picked up a 80 something Maytag washer with the old style helical drive transmission...it works great, but makes a metallic squeaking noise on wash and spin. At first I thought it was the belts, but after replacing the belts the noise is still there.

If someone could tell me what is wrong with the motor that would be great, and yes I know it is coming from the motor as the noise is coming from the left hand corner.

If this is an issue as simple as the motor needing to be greased or oiled somewhere then it would be helpful if someone could post a picture of exactly where I need to put the oil or grease and what kind of lubricant to use. I would do it myself but I tried lubricating a motor on a vacuum before and it sparked and blew up with a bad burning odour so this time i'm not going to trust my instinct and put it wherever I think it needs to go. I need expert advice...

If the problem with the motor means I need to buy a whole new motor I think the washer will be going to the curb unless the person who sold it to me will pay for it, which I doubt will happen. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

First thing I would do is inspect the pulley on the bottom of motor.  I've seen them spit in half from the belt wearing through.  This can also happen if someone installs a non-genuine automotive belt.

Check the motor glides for wear and apply poly-lube grease if needed. Damper pads are also a common high wear area that could need replacement or poly-lube.

Did you remove the front panel and run the machine to pinpoint the source of the noise?

If they are cheap

I think the next thing I will try to replace is the motor pulley, I did take the front off and run it but the noise does not appear to be coming from directly inside the motor, sounds as though it is coming from underneath the motor.

I tried to move the motor back and forth on agitation and when I pushed it hard enough in one direction the noise seamed to stop, what do you guys think is the likely culprit?

I wouldn't just throw new parts at it, wishing and hoping one of them does the trick. Since you've isolated the noise to the motor slide area, narrow it down further. The pulley could be loose or glazed, glides may be damaged, worn, missing a spring, could also be a loose/missing screw somewhere, etc.

If its a rat a tat noise on agitate and spin, it very well could be the first post I ever made on this site when my 30 year old LA 510 developed the noise. Its an inexpensive thingie on the end of the motor that holds the belt. It has to be in the Super Searchalator for the part number and all the help everyone gave me here on how to fix it.

Would that be the pulley?

It is a pulley but had a specific part name that I cant remember.
