Future shop just delivered the washer today and i cant figure out how to bypass the lid switch so i can see it washing :( im not willing to do any rewiring or anything to get it to work im just wondering what type of magnet will activate the lid switch.....maybe a battery?

I have one those little portable Haier washers that I found at an estate sale. I call it my "mini-basket".

In order to permenatly override the lid switch which is integral with the unbalance switch like a vintage Maytag, I had to take the top off and remove the unbalance bar and tie the two wires on the switch togther.

I have no idea how the full size Haier washers operate, but if it is anything like the small machine there is no magnetic switch as it is a vintage style mechanical switch. Which means in order to trip that switch you will need to do some rewiring.

so what exactly am i looking for

under the top cover? do you mean i need to cut 2 wires and put them together or something? im not really getting a clear picture of what it is im doing and if i end up breaking it some ''other members of the household'' may get extremely angry if I end up breaking it....is there anyway way u could show me a picture....or just a picture of the lidswitch underneath the top cover.....and also how do i get the top cover popped up?

Well I threw away those parts after I removed them from the machine so there isn't much to take a picture of unfortunately.

Let's do this, when you have time take some thorough pictures and post them here, between all of us we can help you do this safely. I have no idea if the machine is similar to the little baby Haier so lets just take it one step at a time. Maybe another member who has this machine has done this already and could help as well.
