Our Consumer Reports magazine rates it as the best top-loading machine; however, people have complained (and returned machines to dealers) because they tangle clothes brutally. My local Maytag dealer has sold three of them: one was returned after 2 weeks and another customer said she's sorry she bought it.
Someone who frequents this site has one and says the agitation impellers turn at the end of the cycle to 'fluff' the clothing before it is removed from the tub (much as a FL machine tumbles back and forth for a few minutes at the end of a cycle). He seemed to think this exacerbates the tangling problem. Hopefully Maytag engineers will come up with a solution for the problem.
I'm more interested in the new large-capacity Maytag frontloaders with the window in the door...
