Which retainer rack to use ?
The far left the old one
The new middle one has a small hole to right but it’s further up than the old plate hole.
The new middle plate lower right hole is also much bigger than the old one.
The far right one has no small hole. should I drill a hole in it?

Which one to use?

This is on a search at WP's service portal for 388253. No result on search for 388253A.

No instructions came in kit.
Saw the instruction sheet online you attached but only thing I could get out of instructions was if there was an “X” mark on the main drive gear. There was an X so To use figure 2. The pictures in instructions on rack retainer plate reveals two small holes together which is not what I have, as one hole is bigger than the other as I have pictured above and different from what was original. I guess to put the two whole one which might be an update ?

Use the part that fits your gear case, don’t drill holes in anything that’s not necessary

Follow the instructions, also regards to the correct shoulder/spin pawl-anchor stud. No modifications. The key is whether the gear has an X, not matching the old and replacement plates directly.

Gear has an X, then the rack retainer with two "ID holes" per Fig 2 and the referenced spin pawl/anchor stud.

No X, then the rack retainer without the two "ID holes" per Fig 3 and the referenced pawl stud.
