This is at a friends condo. I believe it's original to the unit. I've never even heard of this brand let alone a microwave range.

I remember my mother had some "Littonware" microwave cookware  back in the 80's.  Our neighbor had a Litton microwave.

Litton was synonymous with the term "microwave" for a brief time in the early days.

 

The combo microwave & conventional oven design never really left the ground, though.

Amana and Litton (Memorymatic and Meal-in-One) were *the* microwaves on the market back in their day ... mid/late 1970s.

My Litton Meal-In-One was the best microwave I've ever had.  It lasted for 23 years and it got heavy use!!!

The church i belonged too growing up had an Amana version.. I've always wanted to know how well they worked and why they never took off..

And my grandparents bought a Litton in 1979 and used it until 1989 (they got a quasar which they had 10 years and then got an over the range Kenmore which was recalled and fixed) in there house and then in there real estate offices from 1990 to 2009! It was chucked because it took 5 minutes to heat water... From cold to tepid... and 15 to boiling

Our first microwave was a Litton Model 412. We still have it in our garage, but just store it there. It works, we just don't know what to do with it. We bought it in 1976.

IIRC, these were somewhat troublesome ranges to keep running.  There were one or two NIB Litton ranges in the store in Early, Iowa.  Typically, these combos were rather underpowered to use as just a microwave compared with standalone microwaves, but those who use the combo for baking and roasting swear by them.

We had one of those ranges, in gold, for a while. I never tried the microwave part, just used it as a regular oven.

I may be completely incorrect........

I believe GE introduced this concept as the "Versatronic," around 1970.

Maytag was the last to offer it (again, to the best of my knowledge,) as the "Accelis."

Only a few years ago, BSH launched their new ovens over here in Europe, and with that, they launched several itterations of the microwave-oven combo.

The highest end one is WiFi connected, with moisture assitance, a 3-point roast thermometer, an auto-bake sensor and on top of that all it is self cleaning with self-clean safe guides/telescopic runners and baking trays. This TOL retails for about 1500€, the next lower in line without the steam assist and WiFi is only ~1000€.
