Never Used Ultrawash Powerclean Dishwasher

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

I was wondering if this would catch your attention.

You kidding? I've got an AI system on my computer that triggers an audible alarm and text whenever the words "new, power-clean, ultra wash, NOS, never used, ect" appear in the same sentence.

The best dishwasher ever made. How I wish they still sold these.

With those scratches I'd ask about bringing the price down a bit.

Only problem with shipping is that it'll probably cost more than 3 times the asking price for it to arrive at your doorstep.

Unfortunately. Though I might just be desperate enough to fork over that money. As of late I've already spent enough on other electrical items of interest so I have to control myself and not fall off the wagon but this dishwasher sure is tempting on the other hand.

If only it were closer.:cry:

Nice dishwasher at a fair price however, the weak part of this machine is the membrane control panel. A lot of them fail, even if they’re not used and their NLA.

If you’re going to look for a vintage power clean, I would look for a porcelain tank model with a mechanical timer or possibly a newer plastic tank one with a mechanical timer.

Matt kicks Chet off the wagon and tries to talk reasoning and sense 😦

Power Cleans are the holly grail of dish-washing. The best dishwasher ever made. These can handle realistic food soil and particle levels, completely self cleaning, will blast off anything thrown at it and does the cycle in reasonable amount of time while being the most energy efficient dishwasher ever made.

If everyone was like me these would be across 95% of all residential Kitchens across the globe.

I beg to differ. I own a previous version of the pictured Power Clean and although it's a decent dishwasher it is most definitely not the best cleaner I've ever used. The racking isn't that great even with an "adjustable" upper rack which only gives about an inch in flexibility. Removing and replacing the upper rack is a chore, which is something I do frequently for washing oversized wares and things like shelves from the fridge when I clean it out monthly. I would have preferred the Whirlpool style upper rack with the tines placed and angled so glassware bottoms could drain more effectively. Also I would have MUCH preferred the Whirlpool silverware basket mounted on the door, than the oversized basket that takes up way too much space from the lower rack. The detergent dispenser is a challenge to lock and would be a problem for anyone with arthritis.

When I re-do my kitchen I will install my Vintage Maytag WU-700 and KitchenAid KDS-17A and say good bye to the Power-Clean.

My Kichenaid KD19 unfortunately dosn't have the option of an adjustible upper rack, but does angle the glassware and cups/mugs enough to allow them to dry.
I figure it's since the upper spray arm is fixed to the bottom of the rack.
And careful placement of dishes etc below isn't a big deal.
It always give me spotless cleaning with Cascade Complete Jel.

The spray arm attachment isn't a factor. KA Superba models, including after adding a spray arm beneath the upper rack, long had adjustable upper racks ... raise, lower, tilt ... 16 effective positions

I see, thanks!
Well my old KA must have been built without that nice feature, but I still love the old girl.

Patrician, Imperial, and Custom models don't have the raise/lower/tilt upper rack feature. Superba, Patrician and Imperial have four rows/sections of adjustable tines in the upper rack.

A KDS upper rack is a direct fit in yours. Keep an eye out for a KDS-18 through at least a KDS-23 machine and swipe the upper rack (and lower rack if it's in good condition) out of it.
