We had that same oven in Avacado in our last house. They are the best ovens we ever used. They heat up quickly and maintain the set heat perfectly. Nothing, but nothing matches the self clean feature in these ovens. You tell it how long to self clean for, we found 2 hours would get rid of anything baked on.
I would say these are from about 1968-1969 or so. The last house we had was built in 1969 and these ovens were original to the house.
The price is not bad, either!
This is the middle of the line model as the lower oven is not Self-Cleaning and their is no Meat-Probe or rotisserie in the top oven. This oven is actually from the 1980s and was the last of the really good GE wall ovens. Interestingly the SC top oven is more energy efficient that about ANY oven you can buy today. It was not only a more sensible size but much better insulated than ovens today. All Wall Ovens today have to run a cooling fan when ever they are on to pull cooling around the unit to keep temperatures of adjoining cabinets down because they have made the insides of the overs so large and in the process reduced the insulation thickness. These older wall ovens had a cooling fan that only was used when the oven was in the SC cycle as the temperatures were in the 900 degree range.
