Hey guys, just asking for some advice here....My place of work has recently moved premises, laundry facilities at our old premises consisted of 2 JLA Large capacity commercial washers and 2 JLA Large capacity gas dryers, to be honest, although they could handle anything you threw at them, they were very unreliable machines, especially the dryers...anyways, i digress, our new premises is only temporary (18 months or so) whilst we have a rebuild done and the temp building has no 3-phase electricity, so, we have been supplied with 2 domestic washers and 2 domestic dryers.
Now, i have to try and attach the links...i'll start with the washers
Hotpoint Ultimas, we have accommodation for 27 people and my Boss is strict on laundry times so she has insisted that the Fast Wash is used regardless of what is being washed, 30 mins long, only 800rpm spin. I know and you all know this makes no sense when the machine is capable of 1600rpm and everything is going into a dryer afterwards but this is what she has insisted upon, she wants each resident to book a 2hr laundry time slot in which to wash and dry their laundry, this means Staff can keep track of what is being washed and the condition of the laundry room and machines...i keep trying to advise her otherwise without sounding like a nut-job, but it's hard to say to your Boss "I know better than you!"
The machines have done 2 loads each today,which was their maiden voyages, both residents washing so the Fast Wash rules were stuck to, when it comes to Staff washing bedding and towels we will use the longer cycles.
I've heard many bad things about Hotpoint but i have to say early impressions of the machines are promising, i am impressed, but, what is the genuine liklihood of these machines lasting 18 months-2 years being used several times a day? Any advice or info you guys can give having any experience of these machines would be greatly appreciated!
