This morning a tech from a local HVAC company came out and replaced our 20 year old Bryant Heat/AC system with new Carrier units. The AC is a 2 ton 13.5 SEER unit and the furnace is an 80 plus 2 Stage (Low and High fire) with variable fan speeds. Both units started up perfectly and run great. The old units were totally wore out and costing a fortune in utilities to run.

Nice clean utility room.

How much did you end up spending on the whole thing?
Was this offered through the utility company where they allow you to make payments for it each month?
Were you able to get on one of the special programs that helps certain people upgrade such units as part of a grant program?

I'm sure it will help you save money MONTHLY especially if the old ones were 20 y.o.

Hey guys, Thanks for replying:

Bob: We should see significant savings. Agreed Variable speed is the way to go. Takes a lot less energy to move heat upstairs than AC.

Bradford: THe whole system installed came to $9234. I did not get this on a rebate program as none are offered in my area right now.

Sudsmaster: It is gas fired.

Vacerator: That is one hell of a good run.

chetlaham: Agreed the peace of mind is great.
