While shopping on Monday, I discovered yet another new laundry liquid, ths one is called Maximat high performance.
It is a little bit thicker than Surf small and mighty, but not as thick and gluggy as Dynamo and Coldpower, seems to be made and owned by an all Australian company, does have a rather strange fragrance though, kind of similar to Dynamo/Coldpower but not as overpowering.
I am thinking this might be Woolworths's answer to Aldi's Trimat liquid, although it is not a Woolworths brand.
Here is a picture of the bottle.

In W.A. for 5 months

It's probably been here for about the same time too Matt, however I rarely shop at Woolies so I haven't noticed it.
Mind you I would not mind seeing a new detergent every time I shop, although I guess one would get a headache in choosing l.o.l. l.o.l.(funny though when I was a kid I am pretty sure all there was to chose from was Rinso and Persil and Sunlight soap bars, how things have changed,(thank goodness, although I must confess to missing Rinso.)(and Bio-Ad soaker.)

performance report on Maximat

Well I tried Maximat for the first time today on a load of mixed colours which had some everyday type of stains on them, a t-shirt of mine had some dried tomato sauce stains,(being the slob I am I do not eat at the dining table, I sit in my recliner with a stable table to put my dinner on.),there were also some tea stains, and general perspiration as well.
Did a full load with 2.5 capfuls of Maximat and I am quite impressed with the results the tomato sauce stains were washed completely out as was the perspiration and the tea stains while not totally removed, were much less visible this was a cold water wash.
The 2nd load was 3 days worth of mixed underwear some of which had moderate skid mark stains and were a bit smelly, the result, skid marks at least 80-90% removed by itself in a warm water wash.
I think if I had soaked the underwear in Fiesta/Napisan before the wash the skid marks would have been totally removed.
Final judgement, a good performer at a not unreasonable price and would most certainly buy again.

Maximat in use

Here are a couple of photos of Maximat being used for a load in the twin tub, lucky I only used half a cap for this load or else I might have had a real snow cone on my hands.
Hope you enjoy.

Supreme laundry liquid

Here is a photo of a cheapy type detergent I bought from the local discount store it goes under the name of Supreme and there are a range of household cleaning products this company makes although this is a front load formula I don't expect it to cause me any trouble.
It is a very thin liquid with a light frangipanni fragrance I am not expecting any really good results from it, but hey for just $3.00 for a 2 litre bottle what does one expect.

Supreme

I have tried the Supreme and it did an ok job, not fantastic and the smell does not linger. Thats just the liquid though. My friend uses the powder version religiously and she swears by it. Guess its all personal experience :-)

Interesting to read that theer is a store in Australia named Woolworth's. We had their stores here in the U.S. (Woolworth 5&10 and Woolco) until quite a few years ago when they went bankrupt.

Supreme liquid

I agree with you Matt, washed our towels in the Supreme liquid and I used a little bit more than normal as it is a f.l. formula being used in a top loader and it was okay and yes the fragrance does not linger for long at all.
In all quite okay for an everyday wash, or just giving things a bit of a freshen up but not suitable for heavy staining, you would be better with a more heavy duty formula.
Laudromat, Woolworths here have been around since 1924 I think it was and they are now one of the 2 very dominant supermarket chains here in Australia the other being Coles.
I worked for them for 10 years in the 1980's and they used to have their own variety stores which were pretty good although they have long since disappeared.

phosphates

Supersuds, I think it will not be too long before phosphates disappear from here as well, you see the Aldi chain are going to have phosphates totally removed from their product range by the end of this year I think it was or maybe another year or so, and they have challenged other manufacturers to do the same.
