Re: Welcome Joel

Hi! Joel, welcome to the great Club Site of Vintage Appliances and everything else, that we talk about and share with each other. "BTW" don't feel bad about thinking if you Posted in the wrong area, everyones entitled to at least 1-Mistake, especially when they are a "New-Comer" to the Club. Heck, everyones even entitled to some mistakes, even if they've been a Member for quite some time, but then someone else let's you know for sure then. "LOL"

Anyway, that was a great introduction of yourself and your memories of your young age of the era of Appliances that you grew up with, along with your Family and Neighbors Appliances as well.

Enjoy reading the Thread Postings and sharing your thoughts, info and opinions, along with everyone else.

Peace, Happy Appliance Fun Days and Welcome again, Steve

Welcome Joel, you are going to love it here. Really a great group of people. Sorry you didn't find us before the convention you would have really enjoyed it. Terry

Another one nabbed by automaticwasher.org!

Greetings from St. Louis, and welcome to the Vatican of Vintage Appliances. Don't worry about posting your intro in any wrong area -- from what I've seen, Pope Unimatic the 1140th will scoot them gently into the proper place if there is any problem. It stands to reason a man who owns so many washing machines is going to have a thing about tidiness! :)

I thouroughly enjoyed your introduction on the Imperial forum. Given that I live in a small two bedroom apartment, alas, I cannot house the washer/dryer collections, so my addiction is expressed in vintage small appliances and kitchen items. Currently my fix of choice is old vacuum cleaners. I only have 8 -- which is an appropriate number for a small two bedroom apartment, isn't it? *shrug* My landlord rather likes the idea. Nodding at my chorus line of Kirby's he said it was a beautiful sight to a man who's spent 20 years ripping out filthy carpeting.

Have you had a chance to check out the Museum and the members collections? Some unbelievable restorations! I was showing a friend this website, during which time someone posted a question about a problem they were having with a unit being worked on. I commented to my friend "Watch -- within the hour someone is going to answer his question." Sure enough, several people responded with suggestions, how-to's, etc.

I've learned a lot from this website, and find reassurance in a group of people who esteem the fine examples of engineering and aesthetics of yesteryear, verus the injection molded results of Chinese slave labor...

Cheers!

John
