Help Support :

The fist electric razor I got was a Remington that never did too well I had it for about 5 years. It was replaced with a triple head Phillips-Norelco, it was better but I never much liked it either it lasted me 7 years,.

I'm thinking that this time I will either try a Panasonic or a Braun

At present shave with two electric razors-first the Norelco-than a Braun. Both have the cleaner-charger bases.Have a newer Norelco-but quit using it-its heads float TOO much-they don't cut.The older Norelco I use has an adjustable head floating feature. The other new one did not.In the older days-used a Sunbeam Shavemaster-Best shaver I used-sad these razors are no longer available.would get one in a heartbeat.I have shaved with blades-like shavors better-and they don't try to chop you!Only time I got cut with an electric razor was when the head screen broke. Then the shaver bit me!Have some older razors in my collection-got from yard sales-don't use them--would YOU want to use a shaver someone else used? There is a website for electric razor fans---The Electric Shaver Page. Some members on it have large collections like we who collect vacuums or appliances. They just collect electric or other razors.

Braun!

I started out with a Norelco 3-headed monster which never did a good job. I got my 1st Braun with the self-cleaning base when I was a junior in college and replaced it last year after it finally wore out. Close shave and not irritatingly loud either.

Philips/Norelco everytime!

However I fear quality and innovation have really gone out the window these days!

When I bought my first Philips/Norelco shaver in the mid 90's it came with every accessory, seemed very well made and really made me feel like James Bond as a young man.

Looking myself at the latest Philips/Norelco shavers, I fear they have diluted the brand and there does not seem to be the same standard.

Hubby got himself a braun but hates it, so he borrows my Philips.

Oh incidentally I also use a cut throat / straight razor, and if you are after a close shave and something that will last the test of time it may be something to consider!

Philips Philishave

I´m not sure if it's the same Norelco sold in the U.S.
Mine was bought in Paraguay (these stuff are much cheaper across the bridge)

My first was a gift given by my father. I used it once and hated it.

Then one day, when I was still working in Paraguay, a saleswoman from a store close to my office called me and asked me if I would accept being her "crast-test dummy" for the new Philishave Smarttouch XL.

I was looking like a bear fter some weeks without shaving and it shaved amazingly well. I was so impressed that I immediatelly bought one for me.

It still works well, but the battery don´t last more than 2 weeks now so a few months ago I bought the TOL Philishave model available. Sensotouch 3D wet and dry model RQ1251/22

It looks like a microphone, at first it was a little difficult to get used to the new handling way (you hold it like a microphone) and WOW! It´s almost like a lawn mower. No matter how long my beard is, it shaves like a blade and never pulled a single hair. But the best thing about it is that the blades don´t get hot. The previous was excellent but after more than 2 minutes shaving, I had to stop and open it to cool down for a few minutes before continue.
With the sensotouch i can let the shaver running for several minutes and the blades still cold.
