I grew up on a small coastal Connecticut town and I remember the streets being flooded more than once in the 1950's, and a foot or two of water in the basement. So I'm wondering how our friends in New England are doing with the "200 year" floods that are happening there now.

I hope everyone is safe, dry, and warm.

It certainly has been an interesting few days here in Rhode Island. The majority of the flooding has occurred in my area. Luckily, no damage to my house, but several people I know have sustained significant water damage (flooded basements, etc.).

Sections of Route 95 are closed, so traffic is rerouted and getting to work yesterday took about 4 times longer than usual.

Right now, the city that I live in, Warwick, and the neighboring towns of Cranston, West Warwick, and Coventry are in quite a mess.

Doing ok here

But look at this apartment complex in Middletown, CT.

Residents were evacuated after part of the parking lot fell into the river, and the building structure was in danger.

Sump pump failed in my building, basement flooded so I spent my day off Wed cleaning up my storage bin. Still feel lucky lots of people suffered much worse damage.

GOOGLE PICTURES OF THE WARWICK MALL IN RHODE ISLAND, THE WHOLE MALL IS FLOODED WITH 2 FEET OF WATER, THANK GOD NO ONE WAS INJURED.

Hope everyone is safe and that your belongings are also safe. What a mess, i hope things quickly return to normal for you. alr2903

Everything is ok here. I did help a friend and his parents in RI as their basment was starting to fill up. They only had a few inches. I watched the news and alot of areas were hit really bad. Alot of streets and sidewalks near hill sides still have water running on them. The ground is still pretty saturated.
