Vintage Items

Hi Bobby, Vintage things sound GREAT! I think we need to have a mixture of things. Meant to say new or used in GOOD SHAPE. Something for everyone. What scares me is the beat up Avocado Electric fry pan that Toggles got. LOL LMAO If you need suggestions planning let me know.

Hope to see you soon.

So will you be serving any Sweet or Spicy Italian Sausage?

I was actually thinking of bringing some items as door-prizes, consolation prizes or trading-tools!

The below however are *WHEW* NOT coming with me.

This is a legitimate game from a company called *Mego*. it was offered for $11.99 by a hardware store called Einstadt's on Northern Boulevard in Flushing Queens. It was subsequently reduced to $6.99. I got it at HALF of that at a going-out-of-business liquidation sale.

The dolls are from pre-1970 from grandma's place. They are traditional Greek costumes. Can you figure out which one is the male? (There tuly is one in there). If they ever went to war in those uniforms they could basically kiss the country good-bye, methinks! OY VEY and those shoes!

Rich, that makes two Italians, so I'll be glad to help bring some food. Hot or sweet sausage it may be, even if only for Toggles.
Rayjay, I'm with you with a mix of fun things for the swap: vintage, new, or booby prizes. It will be worth the laughs.
Is anyone going to carpool? We may be able to woo some of the others. Calling Veg-o-matic!!!!

I'll be glad to help bring some food

That sounds great. I will be posting a new thread, when I return from a trip next week, so that people can post what food they are going to bring to the pot luck meal.

I would like to leave it up to you, Bobby, to organize the Yankee Swap. I think it is a great idea and the suggesion of new/vintage/gag gifts could be interesting :-)

I, too, would like to see more people attend but I know that we will have a blast either way!!!!!

My online presence is going to be a bit limited for the next week or so as I am getting ready to leave and then I'll be traveling to Pittsburgs next week to visit family. I will have a laptop with us but may not be able to reply due to time constraints.

Please keep the post active, guys/gals?

As yet another Italian in the group who has been to Rich's house before, I can tell you there will be plenty to eat, especially when "Chef Chuck" gets in the kitchen.

I like the idea of "pot luck," those that wish can bring a favorite dish.

As far as the Yankee Swap -- c'mon, people, open up some of those Communion money envelopes and spend. I think a $10-$15 limit is fine. New items are okay, but a "New old stock" find at the local thrift store would be even better.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Sweet Sausage/Hot Sausage

Oh my. All of this talk about "Italian Sausage?" What about some "Polish Sausage"?.....uh uh uh....I mean Kielbasa. LOL LMAO I am Polish from both sides of my family. LOL ROFL Most of my best friends and neighbors are Italian and one of things we have in common is: "WE LIKE FOOD". I guess that is why we get along so well. So.....anyhoo....this Pole is coming and is planning on having a great time. I have not decided what to bring yet. I will work the details out with th host.

Take Care

Italian, Pole, whatevah! Just come and eat and have fun. Coldspot, no excuses. You're too close not to come.

Heaven knows I'm easily wooed...

But unfortunately, I'll not be able to make the wash-in.

Actually, it's probably better that way. Put me in a room with a bunch of appliances and Italian men and there's no telling what I'd do!
