  That was great! In the beginning you'd almost think it was about an Chrysler Imperial. Sad that no one does ads like this anymore. In 57 you wanted to show the neighbors your new stove, refer, etc. now no one cares.

Because all brands are pretty much the same!! No fluorescent light, no appliance outlet, no French doors, no control tower..on and on!But most of all NO QUALITY!!!

Funny this thread should get started.  My sister and brother-in-law bought my grandmother's house 2 years ago, and all the appliances were included.  Now they want to replace the refrigerator which is a 1972 Frigidaire Cycla-Matic (non frost-free) in harvest gold.  It runs great, and is super quiet, but they dislike the non frost-free aspect of it.  I wish I could tell them to just keep it, but I'm hoping that they will at least keep it as a 2nd fridge for overflow.

I would rather Have a manual defrost fridge

Frost free models do NOT keep food nearly as well and they cost much more to run and KEEP running!

I remember the ads in the late 50's. One said, "I bet you feel like a Queen?" The answer. "yes I do!" this was Frigidaire. We sure didn't have any of that, living in the country. Mom had a Garland gas stove from the late 40's, a mid 50's Philco fridge and a Dishmaster kitchen faucet.
I loved the laundry and I did all of the wash when I was 8 years old. We had my grandmother's 1936 Maytag and that finally died. We had salt water, of all things, plumbed into the house, which ate out ALL of the plumbing.
We had many used washers, the Thor from around 1935 and the early 50's Montgomery Wards washers which were the worst. Gary
