New Frigidare TL Washer

I will stand by my prediction that this will be the lamest performing Hi Efficiency washer yet. There is a reason no body ever made a one piece tub and impeller before, it won't work well. All it is is an indexing tub with NO agitator.

Malcolm you have obviously not watched a Calypso wash, the clothing continuously moves around the wash basket while turning over and over.

Even though I don't always agree with all of CRs findings I will predict that this machine will be rated far from the top of the ratings.

White Westinghouse one piece tub -good turn over

Several differences, mainly lots more water and I would like to see that load out of the washer, it looks like a few shirts and shorts. And we all know how poplar this washer became world wide, in any event Cool Video thanks for posting.

they should have
1 ... gone with a stainless steel basket
2 ... worked on the wash plate moving independently
3 possibly have the tub moving in the reverse direction of the wash plate
4 lager drum
5 the waterfall thing looks ineffective to me the gets should have been like what the lg wave force does
but exterior look of the washer , fit and finish looks impressive

I guess they are going for trying to move water through the clothes, rather than moving clothes through the water. We'll see how this stands up to the CR stain swatch test.

frigidaire

wow negative comments..... people are basing everything off of a two second video! i mean don't get me wrong it could end up being a not so great machine.... but we shouldn't be judging just yet! i think it is a great idea and i give frigidaire credit for actually designing something DIFFERENT than all of the other HE TL machines out there (just what we need another impeller machine) i think it's a good idea, think about it, instead of trying to move the clothes with an impeller or pulsator as some would say, you have the whole drum moving.. then when it reverses you have all of that momentum of all the clothes rushing forward the same time the tub is turning in reverse, think of an agitub with a longer much longer stroke, without the center post.

Yeah....I would like to see more before judging.......

one GREAT benefit for these types of machines, and which some are coming on board, and others need improvement, is the waterfall that saturates the load while washing.....again, similar to the Calypso.....the Oasis/Bravo/Cabrio impellor machines would work so much better if they had this along with the agitation....

even Frigidaire learned this with their Square door FL....adding the sprinkler to constantly saturate the load while washing......agitation or waterfall alone would not be all that effective....but combined....theres a better chance...

this also doesnot seem to need any special loading requirements, which so many consumers have a problem with......I know, I go Calypso crazy, but its foolproof, just drop clothes in up to the top, add detergent, set controls and go, the machine handles everything else.......this is all todays consumers want...Load and GO!

Load and GO!

Right, and add to the fact the there is no hanging suspension with this machine. The tub is supported from the base plate. It may operate more stable and outlive the Wavefarce machines.

I agree with you, toploader. I am not that big a fan of top loaders. Even the LGs which are my first choice, don't have that great a method of thorough washing and rinsing. I have an Affinity/ steam front loader and it has the recirculating spray and a light up interior. I can actualy see how clean the rinse water is as it recirculates and a 1400 rpm spin really gets the water out. It is the absolute quietest washer I ever owned and it does a great job getting my clothes thorpughly clean using about 15 gallons of water for the entire cycle.
