So they're not "new" but they were FREE and they both work. They are also the NEWest and the largest machines I own. I don't know what to think of them really, I had some experience at a rental house we lived in with a similar aged Profile series and it was on it's way out. These seem to have been taken some care of, and the front panel on the washer is removable, which I don't think the Profile was. Not sure what that whole "Commercial Quality" bit is about, are these actually made a bit better than the standard line? They certainly do look better with the stainless control panels. The dryer still has the film on the panel.

Both work very well and the dryer has an auto sense dry feature and a drum that you put an in-law in. The dryer is very quiet, and the washer is semi-quiet, but a small water level will yield a tsunami in that tub. Nice thing is the washer is a 2-speed which is always a good thing.

These machines are pretty simple in their controls, but have everything I need, simple, but not terribly cheap. To be honest, I'm somewhat smitten with them at the moment, I really like them. I'm used to portables and I just put my ENTIRE load of whites in the washer on "SUPER" and there was still crazy rollover.

Does anyone know much about these machines? Are they decent or crap? These were both made in 1999, and given that they're in very good shape, or at least appear to be.

I had a similar set in an college townhouse.
I was very careful to wash my work/dress clothes on the delicate cycle.
But otherwise, other than being a bit plasticy, they performed very well.
The dryer was my favorite.
