Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Yeah Steve, it's about time GE changed their design and all for the better. If i needed a new machine it would more then likely be a GE with SS interior.

I only defended WP because every appliance i have used of theirs was very reliable and gave/gives good service.

BTW way,...yes there are makers out there who are better then WP...GASP!..in certain areas LOL. Though i see Whirly as the Matsushita of the domestic appliance business ;-)

Hmm, I will have to seriously consider GE when it ocmes time for me to replace my 1200. (U*nless I get a porcelain interior Superba KitchenAid). I had decided I'd only consider a Bosch for a brand new machine.

I agree Greg. I'd only be considering a GE TT with SS interior!!. And unfortunately, those are as expensive as the KM-BSCH if not a lot more.

I've got the GE 9200 TT machine....it was the TOL when I bought it two years ago. Nice thing about it is the Normal cycle takes only 45 - 60 minutes, depending on soil level. And it outcleans my old KA Superba porcelain tub hands down. It also holds a whole hell of a lot more then the KA, including tall platters, without having to adjust the upper rack! GE did something right with these machines and I'd buy another one in a second. Got mine at the Sears outlet store for $660, marked down from $1089, so they ain't cheap. But the MOL machines with the plastic tub interiors are just as good when it comes to cleaning. I just liked the hidden controls and stainless interior and nylon racks with adjustable top rack that this baby had. We've been very happy together. It holds a more than the Bosch does, simply because it's a physically larger machine. And that 1000 Watt heating element really moves things along fast, especially with its 95 degree inlet water capabilities. Just lots of nice features but a higher price to match on their TOL units.

Bob - I don't have the top rack only option on mine, wasn't yet available at the time. But one nice thing about the GE TT machines - you can do a true Bob Load by racking dinner plates in the top or bottom rack!! I mean, this baby holds some dishes! I was surprised that this was the case because the upper rack is very deceptive when you see it, but dinner plates fit and clean beautifully when placed on the right side, tilted forward. Just adjust the rack down and you're ready to roll. It doesn't prevent you from loading tall plates on the bottom either, as they still fit on the left side of the lower rack due to the tilted configuration of the upper rack and wash arm. Very versatile machine. Nice thing, too, is it cleans pots and pans well in either rack.
