We just had this new gas stove installed today to replace the craptastic Bosch we had. The igniter went out again on the oven and I was not going to deal with it anymore. Bosch knew that they had an issue with igniters with this model yet they offered a too bad so sad. Anyways here is the Bosch

Not that I'm a true believer or user of gas cooking equipment but, if I had to have a gas range, GE would be my personal choice. Watching them improve along with the write ups and high ratings regarding performance,ease of use,style , design and an awesome frequency of repair record,is why I prefer GE for cooking appliances. I also like their dishwashers and OTR microwave ovens.

That oblong burner in the center looks great. Be able to handle a grill or griddle as well as a roasting pans. Very nice looking stove.

The oven is awesome on this new range. Heat is even and it also adds heat from the broiler burner, much like an electric oven. Thats a first for me since most gas stoves I have used in bake mode used heat only from the bake burner. I made a cake and a pizza so far and the results were impressive. Temperature is spot on and the oven has a much tighter temp cycling range like 10 degrees if that. The Bosch on the other hand the temp cycling was 30-50+ meaning if you set the temp to 350, and the burner shut off, it would not come back on until internal oven temp hit 300. Not good. And the Bosch was on its 6th igniter. I was not going to put another one in. I was done. I had contacted Bosch about the issue and they know its a problem and told me my stove was defective yet offered nothing. They said that since it was out of warranty that they wouldnt do anything. So it was my problem. But after reading how many people have the same issue I have and on their own website.

Enamel oven racks

This model has those awesome enamel oven racks that can be left in the oven during cleaning. I seriously considered this model for my renovation. She's a beauty!

I really do like the new GE design, and if I was to get a new one, I'd give GE a try.

 

I am happy with my Maytag Gas convection oven so far.
