Not So Well.....

The GE set worked faily well for the first three years, although my wife hated the long cycle times and that the speed wash setting didn't clean well. I did buy the extended warranty, and I'm so glad I did. We had to have the repairman out several times. The repairman finally told the warranty company they were not repairable and they gave us a prorated price. We sold the set on CL and bought a new Speed Queen set, and they lived happily ever after (so far).

Thanks for the reply. So you've now had the Speed Queen set longer than you did the GEs. Sad that buying an extended warranty is necessary. I mean if whatever you're buying is well made an extended warranty shouldnt be necessary. I wonder if they were available back in the 50s-60s?
