First, I just want to say that I have lurking around for a couple of weeks now and you guys have an amazing amount of knowledge!

My wife and I just picked up this 1978-79 GM / Frigidaire Custom Deluxe Reg-38, Our understanding is that it was minimally used and it definitely does show that, very clean.

The only thing that is not up to par has to do with the clock. I can set it and it will work for about 3-4 minutes, then just stops. Any thoughts?

any help you guys can give my wife and I would be greatly appreciated.

We have the identical range...

right down to the same Harvest Gold and flip-number digital clock. You have both ElectriClean and HeatMinder (rf burner) which are great features if working. It's a super cooking and baking machine! PhilR is the expert here if you have further questions or issues. Good luck!

WOW - they are twins lol.
This thing is awesome to cook with, the oven looks like t may have been used once or twice. Has accurate temps etc.
I will start tearing into it this weekend to clean the clock....any advice on how to get to it?

That's a nice range!

As for your non working clock. The Telechron rotor might be worn or it can be stopped by grease/dirt as Kenny said. It could also be another gear that's worn in the clock mechanism itself that causes the problem since it starts when you set it and stops after a few minutes. I never had a range with a mechanical digital clock like that (other than Roger's REG-38 range which I "owned" for just a few hours and never used!).

But I know that some earlier GE clocks often failed either from a bad rotor (that's the part with the sealed-in gears in the motor which can be replaced) or worn metal gears. A friend of mine has a Jenn Air range with a similar GE digital clock that had stopped working for years and suddenly, it started to work again. He set the time on it and it kept working for about a year but the last time I checked, it had stopped again!

If you're OK with removing it and inspecting/cleaning it, you might be able to fix it by yourself if you are lucky or you could send it to have it rebuilt.

There's a place who repairs these. They don't have this exact model listed on their website but I assume they should be able to fix yours.

Here's a link to their website:

The part number for your clock should be 1132522 if that helps... Here's what it looks like when it's removed from the range.

The part number was probably updated to 5301132522 when WCI took over.
