Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Welcome Morgan, thanks for sharing the neat pictures. Joseph is so cute. I would love to hear you play that organ sometime. You will really enjoy this group. Terry

Welcome Morgan

Indeed, Joseph looks rather unwilling to be a participant in the photo shoot. Love the Hoover and the Royal. I am just washing all the attachments for Charlie's Kirby Dual 80 which is in Cleveland getting a total Kirby beauty makeover. No one does a rebuild like they do! Comes back brand new. Charlie has wanted to become a member of the Dual 80 club and he is almost there.

Dual Eighty

Do they still redoe that machine in the right colors. The last time I sent in my mom's 508 it came back in the same color as the Sanatronic 50. Their letter back to me stated that machines and attachments may not be color corridinated but would be sent with all new tools.

Kirby Colors

Up until recently, all machines before and including the Dual 50 got redone in tan, so unless I want a tan machine, I don't send the earlier ones back. We just got word that the green was being discontinued which has caused a flurry of Dual 80s to go back. The last few came back in green. Keep your fingers crossed that this one does as well. I understand that all attachments will now come in black. Yuk!!

New vacuum

Well finally received my last EBay purchase. Almost new Viking Dirtmaster. A Eureka packaged for Viking in Canada. The only tools that had been used were the Dust Brush and Crevis tool. Still had the original bag still in the vacuum... guess it is time to clean the house... later

We need a pic, you can't leave us hanging like that LOL.
Is it an upright or canister?
BTW for those not familiar, Viking was the now defunct Eaton Dept stores brand name for their appliances.

My Mother's Model 508 Kirby

This was purchased in July of 1947. It has been rebuilt several time. The last time was about 3 years ago. Still purrs like a kitten..

Thanks for the neat pictures Morgan. That Viking looks to be in perfect shape. You are very lucky to have your Mom's orginal Kirby. Have fun playing with the new Viking. Terry

Trying to figure out the Viking

Love that Viking. However, trying to figure out the orientation of the intake hose, that tool tray, and the lid. It looks to me like the lid hinges forward to expose the tray, but then the intake hose would be in the compartment along with the tools. I am not seeing this right somehow. Can you explain?

Thanks!

Very nice vac and looks to be in great shape. Eatons rebadged Eureka canisters and uprights while the Bay dept store I think had rebadged Hoovers using their Baycrest store brand.
BTW, does it say what city it was made in?

Bag Compartment..

When you open the vacuum the tool tray literally sits on top of the bag. So you can close the lid and use the vacuum with the tools stored inside the cleaner. Eureka never had a great hose conection on these models. There is always leakage in the bag compartment that comes from the hose connection and bag connection. If they would have extended the hose connection end and added a rubber seal similar to the Electrolux seal on the bag I think they could have solved the problem.. Answer to the second post, the box says made in America but does not say by whom. And your right it does say Eatons on the bottom of the vacuum as well. It also say American Made there as well but again does not say by whom...
