Hello everyone.

I've been a bit of a coffee geek for a while and I thought that I should share this with you all.. This is an Izzo Alex Duetto I. It is a double boiler espresso machine.

I take my coffee very seriously, I just recently picked up one of these. It's manufacture date is from 2008. I just love making cappuccinos and lattes.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Enjoy!

Super Automatic machines will never really make coffee as good as a semi-automatic or a volumetric automatic will.

I will admit there is a bit more work involved with making a coffee, but it's not hard work. If anything, it gets me much more involved with it.

If you are seriously thinking about it, send me an e-mail.. qualin at shaw dot ca ..I'll be glad to give you some advice.

With Thanks

Hi Next time i have to replace my Machine I will look for a semi-automatic but `i just paid £300.00 for a service on the Jura. I have a small non auto now that i use when the Jura go for service its a Pavoni not sure if that the correct spelling and your right it does make better coffee

I just had a look and you can get the same machine over here its £1899.00 about the same as a Jura Z line but it looks a lot better made,, I love this machine and Christmas is coming

Wow, that's a serious espresso machine, Bud; it's beautiful. And I agree that it's more satisfying to get involved in making espresso than it is to push a button and have the machine do it all automatically. Congratulations!

Mike,

Just make sure you also budget for a grinder if you are serious about buying this kind of machine. You can't use pre-ground espresso in these machines.

Consider either a Baratza Vario or a Mazzer Mini Electronic. (The latter goes with this machine very well due to its chrome body.)

I do agree that it is more work to make espresso using a semi-automatic, but the reward is worth it and will taste better than anything a super-automatic like a Jura can produce. Especially if you love your straight shots.

I like how I have full control over the grind, dose and tamp as well as the water temperature.. It helps me wake up in the morning.

Here was my old coffee set up, a Rancilio Rocky and Silvia. These are great starter machines if your budget is a bit more strict.
