Wow, the response is overwhelming! .......
Thanks everyone.......these were certainly a labor of love...and not always that. I will post some of the photos of the restoration soon. It was an incredibly difficult job on the washer......
Greg: Im not sure HOW the dryer works! Ha, I plugged it in and it worked fine and I just left it at that! I did take it somewhat apart to do a lint clean out and also lube on the bearings..... Thanks for the info on the timers, I will go and see Larry soon......Im SURE it will only cost me a millon$ Buck$.......Ha.
Ben, yes this has the first version of the metal chamber self cleaning lint filter. It was one of my BIG problems with this washer. It would barely let anything thru. I did a total disassebly on it and will show the pics....its a fascinating contraption, with glass nuggets inside it!
Yes EMP in Long Beach, this dryer is built like a tank. It seems Kenmore, GE, and Frigidaire were all trying to outdo each other around this time period, not to mention the Norge Dispensomat!
MickyD, you will be able to use this in just a couple of weeks! But NO PUSH BUTTON PLAYING< even behind my back! You KNOW how I hate that.......HA
Robert: yes there is NOTHING as fine as an ALL porcelain set. It made the Frigidiare's survive long after old rusty washers were thrown away.....Kenmore didnt seem to make too many all porcelains.......Hotpoint and Frig seemed to have that market.....
All in all I LOVE this set.......it is tops in drama and glamour.......
