Seller advises that it has been necessary, of late, to close DW door, click "cancel", and then choose type of wash cycle... which does the wash in fine fashion. Does that make sense?
Thank you,

Dry cycle?

My first thought is whether the dry cycle isn't completing, either by chance or due to an issue in the timer. Canceling it after a cycle would rapid-advance the timer through the dry and prepare it to restart at the beginning.

Does that make sense?

Yes, it makes sense but that's not how it was designed.

After a cycle has been completed and the timer shuts off the machine, unlatching the door the first time triggers the timer to advance into "ready" mode for next time.  You should hear the timer clicking when this happens.

My guess is that it's not happening on the subject machine.  The quick remedy is to effect the same advance of the timer by pressing "cancel" and then selecting the cycle option.

It may be a rapid advance or other timer issue, or a latch issue.  Others here may provide options for diagnosing the problem.

NON RESETTING KUDS-22

This is usually caused by a sticking push-button switch. If the cycle button that was last used does not pop out when the door latch is raised to open the door this will happen. Usually the program sw can be saved by lubricating it with a silicone type lubricant, at worst you may need to replace the PBS.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for the explanation, and possible solution. I will let you know the outcome.
