LG just announced a new smart washer that uses artificial intelligence to determine the kind of cycle to use based on what type of laundry is placed inside. It also has a detergent and fabric softener dispensing system as well as their new Turbowash 360 system. It will even tell the dryer what cycle to use based on what it washed. Here is a link to their announcement at CES 2020:

Imma just follow-up here as well. :D

I found it somewhere, that the square door model is wm4500hba- there is a retailer online that says they'll start shipping it 1/23-127... I don't know if that really true.
In another video on LG Global on youtube, theres another model coming out, on the door it says real tempered glass. Im not sure what that really means, but soon it will come out with more info. Im excited to get these!

The square door model has smaller looking baffles, or i should say, it looks stainless steel and built right into the tub.

Thank you David. Been looking for these for the past 3 weeks or so. Found them yesterday, but still no manuals. Appliance Connections says shipments late August, early September now.

Those do look nice. I am surprised the twin wash system has lived this long. It seemed like a gimmick at launch and I didn’t think they’d still be around. I’d like to get one with my next pair, just for fun. When I move the current set is going to stay with the house.

Twin Wash

My MIL and SIL have the LG 4370 with the twin wash pedestal washer. Wash temps are tepid at best, so I'm not really a fan but they both seem to love them.[this post was last edited: 8/8/2020-16:02]

Thanks Bob for pointing that out. It's interesting that turbowash can no longer be turned off during the normal or heavy duty cycles.

What I really like is with the 4500, you can totally adjust the amount of detergent and fabric softener dispensed. The default amounts can be increased or decreased in 0.1 oz (3 ml) increments, within a range of 0.3 oz (9 ml) to 6.0 oz (180 ml). And then you can further adjust it up or down depending on the load if you want. What I also like is the reservoirs can be removed and completely opened up for easy cleaning. This washer sounds brilliantly engineered. Whirlpool could learn a thing or two from LG.
