Features

This range is the BEST I ever cooked and baked with. I have cooked on all of them including making baking lasagna on a camp fire. The cook top heats up and cools down super fast. Even faster than a commercial gas range. No grates, coils, or ceramic cook tops to scrub. The oven heats up super fast and bakes to perfection. I cannot say enough good about this range. It cooks very evenly and you can have a slow simmer or on Low a barely simmer or keep warm.

However, I did like my GE Cafe smooth cook top too. I just wanted to try Induction and I am happy I did.

I am going to sell my GE Cafe if anyone is interested. I will post pictures in the correct area of the club.

Ray, congratulations and welcome to the wonderful world of induction. I know how much you love to cook and bake, especially for the family. Bob

P.S. what brand of hood is that. I still need to replace my 1984 GE hood.

Looks great.

I would never willingly go back to anything but induction again. We've had our GE for about 3 years now and I can't fault it for anything .

Also like to know what hood fan that is with the hidden controls? Thinking back I probably agonized more on choosing the hood fan than I did on the stove.

Thanks for all the compliments and well wishes. I will keep everyone posted.

Today I will be making Bolognese sauce for stuffed shells which I will make tomorrow.
Also, Cabbage and noodles which is slowly sauteed cabbage and onions with butter and noodles. Its an Eastern European dish. Being Polish American, we call it Lazanka.

I will be baking cheese cake bars too.

FABER HOOD

The hood above the range is made by FABER. The hood is engineered in Italy. Great hood too of course vented outside. Easily to clean, stainless steel filters that go into the dishwasher. Three speed and light and hidden controls.

Hello Chris. The oven does not have an air fryer, but it has convection bake and roast, bread proof, speed broil, broil, speed roast, warm, remote start, easy clean, self clean.

I will probably doing some baking today, so I will let you know how that turns out.

Now perform The Initiation Rite

Post the obligatory photo of boiling water on a potentially flammable material like a paper napkin.

LG Induction Follow-up

Hi everyone. Thought I would give a followup. The range is fantastic. Boils water quickly and also does a nice slow simmer. Recently I put up a 20 QT. stock pot of chicken stock. I set it to barely simmer, ( a few bubbles every so often. I simmered the stock for 24 hours. It came out delicious.

PS: I have my GE Cafe Smooth Top Range for sale. Works perfectly, just wanted to try Induction.

Please let me know if interested in the GE Cafe smooth top at: [email protected].

Thank You

Raymond

Great news. When I saw the follow up I was thinking oh no. Still no issues with our GE either. BTW reading back.. You can do air frying in yours, just get a wire mesh basket and use convection. That's what I always did before hubby got hooked on his counter top air fryers (which is no faster than using the big oven) but might save on some power.

Hi Petek. Thanks for the advise on the air fryer. Do you put a pan under the rack of the air fryer? I also have a Breville smart oven which has an air fryer setting. It does a nice job. However, I tried making fresh cut french fries and they did not come out good. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Ray

As long as we're checking in . . .

Frigidaire's still purring like a kitten almost 2 years in.  Love the sound of the "burner" powering up on Power Boost.

Currently the only model available from Home Depot and Lowe's with traditional backsplash controls a la the Touch-N-Cook.

Ray; No I don't put any sort of tray under the basket. I just put it directly on an oven rack. I guess if I was going to air fry something drippy I might put a tray on another oven rack below the the basket so that the air can still circulate easily around the basket.
