Well, apparently the fill problem was the stupid water hoses with the pressure regulators in them. (We have super duper water pressure, and they don't like it) So now, it's behaving like a Queen. (And so is the washer! )
I've seen those flood-stop hoses give trouble before too - way back in '08, Terry's Highlander Maytag in the garage was misbehaving in fill and we traced to those silly hoses. I guess they never will flood the house if no water ever gets through them! We replaced them with standard hoses and the machine worked fine.
If the water pressure in your house is running much above 55-60 psi, I would put a regulator on the main line. High water pressure in the house can cause lots of problems.
You mentioned rebuilding the transmission. The first and last time I set out to do that turned into a nightmare! It was messy and my temper got the better of me. The machine survived but with an orbital transmission....lol
What a beautiful set, and the harvest gold looks great on them... love the lit chrome shot, my favorite view, too. Glad you have them working well. Since you appreciate a harvest gold pair, here's the traditional money shot of my Lady of similar vintage, showing off her Vari Flex.
