New maytag topload washer commercial. Works great, recomend.

Hi folks! The Biggest debate ever,when i read about toploaders och frontloaded washers.
I live in sweden just bought a brand new washer. An maytag mat15mn ,Classic American model with agitator. Made for commercial grade. It replaced an Classic swedish work horse, Asko frontloaded washer 11002 fr.o.m. 1987. the modern new frontloaders here takes waaaay tooo looong time to wash a load. About 2-3hours for regular whitewash!!! The old asko is fast, just 1hour normal whites cycel. So that was when i determed to go the American way,
Then i read about Water usage and washers, that Top-loaders are Water guzzlers, bla bla
I saw the technical spec on the top-loaded washer about 30gallons Water normal cycel,
And 8.2kg clothes capacity (18ibs)
The old asko frontload used 21gallons Water /cycel and a capacity of 3.3kg dry clothes (7.2ib)
My asko is using morse Water than the Water guzzlers...hmm
The new washer takes waaaay more laundry!! Thats great!

So when i installed the new American toploaded washer, ill save time. And the water bill has become smaller, its true!!
Im an european guy, and i think european washer (frontloaders) is a joke, it takes forever to run a load of laundry. And you cant add more clothes under the cycel. That sucks. At least Its like this in sweden.

Im just saaying, try to wash your hands in a dripp of water and see the resault of that, it just got to be Water to clean out dirt.

I can warmly recomend you to buy this waher. I have nice clean clothes, and not so wrinkled as in old asko, i have used It sens 1 May this spring. So i really tryed it out before writing this,
And compare to the old asko washer its quiet, not nosiy at all.

Looks like you have a new Whirlpool made commercial Maytag washer. I really don't know what kind of mechanism this machine has now. I don't even know if it has a transmission, but I'm glad you are pleased with it. The front load machines now do take a long time to run a load of clothes…..Just yesterday I tried washing some things in my LG made Kenmore front loader on the "express wash" cycle. The things I washed didn't even get clean, so I had to run some of them again. I think it takes that long cycle to get things clean in a front loader. My old Maytag washer sure would have cleaned them in about 30-40 minutes even with a double rinse.

Ahhh, Yes.

These machines are just about ubiquitous at laundromats across Australia.

 

We had to use our local laundromat (costing a whopping $4 a wash 5yrs ago, and now $5 a wash. Always cold water) with these machines before our appliances arrived after moving.

Yeah, they work VERY well. But loading according to the guidelines in the lid (to the top row of holes, which you do to stretch your $4...), we did have a lot of issues with damaged fabrics.

 

If my ears serve me well, these use the Whirlpool Direct-Drive mechanism, the same as in the "Shredmore" machines. Maybe yours has an adjustable washing time, but our machines didn't. That agitator is incredibly violent, if I do say so myself.

Don't these new Maytag-Whirltag washers use the new belt drive mechanism?

It is an directdrive, shortstroke agitation. Black agitator, I Think the zippers are the biggest damedge to clouthing and a risk of ripping the agitator, after that the agitator Will damadge delicat fabrics, i load the washer to top of the tub maybe overloaded then. But the wash floats around easy. It has a timer for wash time 10-1min delicats setting, then just agitation on short inpulses and then soaks the wash.
IF you ask me. Top-load wash better.

I remember reading as a kid a manual for either my mom's or g'ma's washer. There were a list of instructions as to whether it was best to wash a garment zipped or unzipped, depending on the weight of the fabric and the weight of the zipper.

Might there be similar instruction in Ephemera?

Does you washer have a manually cleaned lint filter? If so, where? I wonder if it's in the agitator like the old Maytags.

Your clothes will be less wrinkled because the spin speed is lower. The lower spin speed also results in more water left in the clothes when the cycle is done. This means that the drying time will be a bit longer, whatever method you use to dry your clothing.

Where in Sweden are you? I have a cousin who lives just outside Stockholm and I once spent several days in Lyseskil, a beautiful small town.

Yes slower spin but alsow more room in tube for clothing to move freely. It's not any lint filter in the washer. Is it big difference to have or not? Is it takeing care of cat/dog hair? Yes it's nice in lysekil, I live near jonkoping, it's a nice town, you should wisit it next time. It's not so long from lysekil. I would really like to go to the states, or even move over. A country that not thinks v8,or having pancakes fore breakfast is strange. And you can have hot weather in south or cold in north, a country that have it all. Here right now the beginning of autumn. And the summer that it's called here last fore 2month with temperatures over 77f. It's not icecold the other months, more like: rain, or windy or gray, or raining, or windy and raining. But I shouldn't complane, heard about the awfully fire in California. We could give them some of our rain.
