new Maytag washers and dryers

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Whirlpool did give Maytag the KitchenAid front load pair. I don't think that is treating Maytag too shabbily. I just wonder what is going to happen with the little Samsung-made front loading Maytag washer. Has anyone seen actual Samsung front load washers and dryers for sale under their own name anywhere in North America?

Might this be what the nw Maytags will look like?

Found this on the Staber web site-looks like a modified Whirlpool dryer.

I have a lower-model Maytag DD washer coming at the end of the week. It won't be a center-dial model. Those are not released yet. I'll be sure to post photos then.

The Admiral and Amana washers will look just like the Ropers. They will have polypropeline tubs not porcelain. The tubs for Maytag will be the same as before, high end models will be stainless steel, step downs will be polypropeline. This information was gathered via laptop computer of our Maytag/Whirlpool rep.

Interesting...

Regarding the Admiral/Amana models resembling the Ropers...does this mean the DD design will be slightly modified on these machines, with the polypropylene tub, or will the Norgetag design remain? I'm curious to find out. Looking at the Amana website, however, it appears that the SS/poly tub models are still Norgetags, while the new porcelain tub models are DD.

Also, it seems Roper has changed their control panel colors once again, this time to a grayish theme. The knob centers and the timer dial now appear to be a "brushed stainless" of sorts. Perhaps they're trying to shed that BOL appearance?

Maytag MTW5500TQ = spreckle-gray porcelain tub
Maytag MTW5600TQ = white porcelain tub
Maytag MTW5800TW = SS tub
Maytag MTW5900TW = SS tub

Amana NTW5500TQ = Natural gray porcelain tub
Amana NTW5700TQ = Natural gray porcelain tub
Amana NTW5800TQ = Natural gray porcelain tub

Magic Chef HTW4300TQ = poly tub
Magic Chef HTW4400TQ = natural grey porcelain tub

I was wrong earlier in the sense that all of these Maytag models will now be the Center dial design. I did not see a plastic tub Maytag listed in my info. Maybe that will be a Home Depot exclusive.

I saw a MTW5700 today at a local dealer. It had a center timer dail. White porcelain basket. And a porcelain top and lid. The exact same top and lid as the upper model Kenmores (Elites). While the control panel seemed very well built(not tinny like most) it was very bland. All flat with basic round knobs.
The MTW5800 & MTW5900 (both SS baskets) are described as having "premium consoles" with "premium knobs".
And the 5900 has something called "smart controls".
It will be interesting to see.

Interesting.

What are the agitators in these new Maytag's like? Please please I hope its not a boring DAA spiral shape, though I dont mind the DAA in the Atlantis. Im sure Whirlpool could make a different agitator for the Maytag lineup.

Looking forward to pictures. :)
