I've really enjoyed this site. It is really nice to know that you are not the only person around that enjoys washing machines.

Now for my question. I have a Kenmore HE3T that is about 4 years old. It has decided that it doesn't want to spin at full speed for the final spin, especially with towells or jeans in it. I've noticed that the panel above the cycle selector is getting warm to the touch...is my circuit board about to go? This has been a trouble free machine up till now. With seven children I can't let the laundry pile-up or it will take over the house!!

I also have a Maytag Dependable Care LAT 9605AAE washer that I just love. My wife hates it, says it doesn't clean as well as her HE3T. I was told when I bought it (second hand) that it is the last of the true Maytags. Given that Whirlpool has just acquired Maytag, I think I'll hold on to this one.

Thanks guys! Look forward to hearing from you.

Don't you have television?

LOL-- JUST KIDDING.

WELCOME to the club super-dad!
Do you have two dryers as well to get the laudry done and over-with?
Again a warm weclcome to a man who proabably knows laundry and machines very well.

Fatherofseven:

Hi and welcome!

I have the HE3T's as well. And a plethera of Maytag's.

Back to your concern. I was having some of the same issues. One of the club members (Brent Aucion) told me to unplug the machine from the wall. Do not turn the breaker off, just leave it unplugged overnight. After unplugging it, I pressed the buttons like I was going to wash, just to draw any bit of engergy that might be trapped in the electronics. Tried it and have not had a failure since.

Give it a shot!

Thanks Guys!

Toggleswitch (Steve): Yes, we have TV!! No, I don't have two dryers...wish I did! Do have a clothes-line and it is used! Just love the smell of clothes off the line! Thanks for the welcome. It's been fun cruising this web-site.

Mayken4now (Steve): We used to live in Ft Walton back in the late 80's (was stationed at Hurlburt Field). Glad we moved...all those hurricanes would have done us in! Thanks for your advice! I've tried uplugging the machine overnight as recommended. It will work for a couple of loads then start acting up again. It's has never not spun the clothes out, it just will not ramp up to the 1200 or so rpm it's supposed to. Spin speed is limited to the speed of the first spin after the first wash drain. Not very fast and the clothes are just about dripping wet. I've got he Hetti sitting off to the side right now and am trying to stay caught up with the trusty Maytag. It's so much fun being Mr. Mom!!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Id check with Sears to see if there have been any issues with it, and if there's a recall, etc.. Maybe they can help ya out as to why it isnt workin right..
