WOW..........a blast from the past, glad i found this site. I am 54 yrs old and have been working on appliances since I was 7 yrs of age, my father used to be a Fuller Brush Salesman in Brooklyn, and then he sold Hoover vacuums..and then he became a Hoover servicer......He bought my mother a Norge with the time line timer, took it apart a few times and decided he was an expert ......he used to go door to door and ask if they needed service, on foot.....1950ish...i wish those machines were still around, at least you could repair them.........but at my age i would not want to move one :)....

Hey Dan! A big howdy from deep in the heart of Texas! Did Don mention a snack? I'm always up for a snack and some great input on the threads! But beware...this place may leave you scratching your head, slapping your knee, or wiping your eyes. No matter what, you'll love it!

Hi Dan!

Dan, I just joined here a bit ago myself, and have found a really friendly, helpful, and fun group!

Fluid-drive? Like in Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, DeSoto Fluid-drive? :-)

John

Or like AMC Coronado fluid drive?

Not a car, but an automatic washer! I'll admit, the name is indeed a little confusing at first!

Hi Dan!

A warm welcome to you. From your post, you bring a great deal of knowledge and experience to the table here. There is a great bunch of people here and if you love appliances you have come to the right place.

Your post has brought back a memory for me. My grandparents had one of those Speed Queens with a fluid drive. The design was very interesting and as far as I can remember, was pretty reliable. They used it for years until the sediment tube broke off. After that, they replaced the machine, due to the cost of replacing the tube.

Well, thanks for stirring up an old memory for me. Once again welcome to you. I look forward to reading your posts.

Dennis
