Looks pretty interesting, they are calling it the "Mop Washer" made specifically for washing mop heads! Some very intersting features! Apparently, it does a spin before it starts filling with any water to remove as much dirty water as possible from the mop heads, then does a series of pre-rinses to help remove left over chemicals before starting the wash! It also has no pump, but rather a gravity drain! This is a pretty neat machine!!! Also, in addition to the Honey Comb drum, they've added 183 more and larger perforations at the back of the drum to remove "coarse soil" so the mop heads will still be protected from passing through the drum perforations during spin!

New domestic machines?

Does anyone know if Miele plans on dropping the big 4000/9000-series domestic machines and introducing... something else? Someone purporting to be a product tester over at the LaundryRoom mentioned this as a plan / possibility a while back.

@ Jamie : check also mieleprofessional.co.uk

.. to see other unusual purpose washers for cleaning fire brigades wear and horse blankets

As for "dish"washers, aside from washer-disinfectors for hospitals and labs, there are also some "strange" washers for special applications, i.e. to clean (empty) circuit boards, degrease metal parts or wash optical glasses/lenses

I go crazy for these "odd" machines ! :-)

Washing mops ...

When I was in highschool, they started to give the cleaning business a chance so they hired a firm to clean the buildings. The school had to supply a washer, the firm supplied the rest. But they forgot to tell the cleaning ladies how to wash those mop things. In my spare time I did the laundry for all the sportgroups, so once I came inside the laundryclass finding all those mops lying there filthy and smelling... I putted them in our miele and stopped the machine 3 times so she could restart at the prewash. Lucky my I had a good reason to skip french and maths ...

This was the miele that was used for schoollaundry. Later they bought a bauknecht MUNICH model, horrible rinser so not good for washing mops!
