New Old Stock Montgomery Ward Dishwasher Sandusky, OH $30

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The styling of it reminds me very much of the Beaumark appliances sold by The Bay department store here in Canada in the early 90's. Were these dishwashers cheaply made or just did not work well? Looks like it could hold a decent amount of dishes.

Baycrest appliances from The Bay pre-1978 would have been closer to this.  The Beaumark appliances were sourced from Camco, so the dishwasher from 1979 forward were Hotpoint clones.

To reply to Turquoisedude, I would say that the Viking dishwashers at Eaton's were exactly like this WCI dishwasher. My aunt had one with the same slanted control panel, probably made in the 80's. Here is a picture, but this advertisement is probably from the late 70's.

Missionary needs a part

Hi. My wife and I are missionaries in southern Mexico, 1000 miles south of McAllen, TX. Many years ago I bought a Montgomery Ward dishwasher at the border and transported to our home. It has worked all these years but is now leaking out the pump shaft seal. How could I get a new pump or seal for this old dishwasher? I can't get a new one here and it is too hard to bring a new dishwasher in now. I have friends at the border who can receive the part, cross the border and ship it to me. The specs are:
Montgomery Ward Dishwasher
Model UC01236C87
Serial SLB64094
Motor 6 amp
Other 6.1 amp
Connected load 12.1 amp
115v 60hz 1PH

IIRC, the first Montgomery Ward built-in dishwasher was made by Waste King. My aunt had one and I could tell it was a stripped-down version of the Waste King, as it lacked a pre-wash and automatic detergent dispenser.
