About a week or so ago had the misfortune of needed to use local laundromat as had several large quilts that wouldn't go in any of washers at home.

Whilst there was gifted a huge bottle of Persil "10 Dimension" liquid/gel. Thing was about 1/4 from empty and person said have at it. Great one thought to oneself, will add to the several full bottles in stash already. *LOL*

Today was laundry day (shirts and some table linens) so said why not go for a bit of adventure? No use having that large bottle hanging about so will use up much as can.

Have to say whatever Henkel has done with the scent one very much approves. Not nearly so bowled over when opened the washer door. Folding things and putting up to iron later noticed again the scent wasn't nearly as powerful nor long lasting compared to previous Henkel USA versions.

Shirts weren't that dirty so will have to wait for table linens to come out of the Miele to judge overall cleaning effectiveness.

Still, just toning down the scent is a good start.

Laundress, Amen to that!!!! Totally agree, glad they toned it down. It was strong enough to give me a headache, wondered if they were aiming for 45 days of freshness.....or more. Recently bought a bottle of original clean, the strength still reminded me of Pinesol (your favorite, I know! Lol.).

Is the scent seriously that strong for German markets?

Do you remember anything about the specific variety of Persil? I think "10 Dimension" is something that might be used across the line, but can't remember for sure.

In any case, it's nice to hear about some variety with improved restraint! I tried "Original" sampler bottle which I found at Target in late 2017. I was very impressed by the cleaning (although, admittedly, I don't have "nightmare" loads)...but I did NOT like how strong the scent was.

It’s such a wonderful

sophisticated, complex, intriguing scent. So unlike all the cheap, simple, tacky American scents.

Persil is my favorite, both for scent and cleaning ability, which is second to none in my experience.

I never buy stain products anymore. Pour 2in1 on the stain, set it aside 15 or 20 minutes for the enzymes to work, throw it in the wash, and the stain disappears. It has never failed. Some stains I used to treat and wash 6 times or more before Tide removed them.

The first bottle of Persil Original that I bought years ago, and threw away, did result in dingy white shirts that smelled like vomit.

But since then it’s been the best detergent ever. Things stay so nice and bright with Persil.

I wish they would bring back the Power Pearls.

The new Odor Fighter has a different scent, maybe the same as the Intense Fresh formula, which I don’t like as well as the Original scent, but it’s fantastic on odors and also keeps things white and bright.

As mentioned above, I tried a sampler of "Original" in late 2017. I remember liking the scent when I first smelled it. And yes, it seemed more complex and interesting than most detergents. But...I really didn't like how pronounced it was after the laundry was dried. Even after days, it was still very noticeable to me, and I don't think I have the most sensitive sense of smell out there. I sort of wish they could have had a scent that was "interesting" but understated.

Although one type of Tide I tried maybe 10 years ago was a lot worse. It was horribly strong, lingering, and something I plain hated. Thankfully, that sampler was a 1 load sampler. But the experience was so awful that it was a long time before I was willing to consider any Tide liquid again. I was able to use that Persil sampler up without any problem.

I remember all the talk on my cloth diaper forums when Persil was first introduced. Story after story after story of people’s laundry developing a sickly, vomit-esque scent was enough that I’ve never tried it. I’m really tempted every now and then especially since the cleaning performance seems to be so good.... it also doesn’t come in a powder, which I prefer. Maybe I’ll look for this variety and just try it.

I hadn't consciously noticed until perusing this discussion ... I finished an older supply of Persil 2in1 liquid and started on a newer jug labeled "10 Dimensions of Clean" and the residual scent is much less, to the point that it's barely discernible when the washing and drying finishes and non-existent a couple days later.

I have four unopened Power-Pearls.

Is this newer jug also 2in1? (As I said above, I think "10 Dimensions of Clean" is being used on more than one product.)

I have to admit...I'm now curious to try Persil again just to see what my perceptions of the current scent levels is like. Even though I have zero need for a new supply of detergent. I must be strong and resist. Must be strong. Must resist. Must be strong. Must Resist. LOL

Ironed the shirts washed in "10 Dimensions"

Have to say noticed little to nil scent remaining, especially compared to the 2in1 formula used previously. Looks like Henkel USA got the message loud and clear.

Marketing speak does state this new Persil is "clean rinsing" so maybe less of the scent is designed to linger on purpose.

If you like the 10 Dimensions of Clean, you will love the Deep Clean version out now. The scent is even better and gives just a hint after the load is dried. Everything smells fresh and clean. Plus I find it cleans even better too.
The Persil Discs though, Clean well but my gawd the aroma is too much to my snout.

Thanks joe

I have been using Persil 2n1 10 dimensions since early last year and I just bought a small bottle in April. Mine says stain fighter but is still saying prolift technology. I have noticed a steady decrease in scent in each bottle I have purchased. The stuff rinses much better too and that is a plus for me. I usually use to line 1 which is 29 mils and occasionally I will use just over line 1 for extra dirty clothes or a wee bit larger load. The performance so far has been excellent. NO need for odor fighter for me but might be good if you have teenagers or work on a farm or something.

Even though I have a machine which auto doses its own detergent I still include Persil 2n1 in the rotation of detergents I use.

Thanks again for the pix
