Since the recent thread that brought up the fact that Prell shampoo is available once again we decided to try it out. We bought a tube and have been using it for the past 10 days or so. We usually use a Green Tea shampoo (I love the morning mint rush)and Martix Voluminzing Hair Shampoo.

Yesterday I went to get my haircut. I go to one of those unisex salons. The woman who cuts my hair has been doing it for the past five years.

While was shampooing my hair, she asked my what kind of shampoo was I using? The reason was is that my hair was very dried out and even had split ends. She said my hair is normally in great shape. I was expecting an "upsell" to some salon products. But in the past she never has done that with me. She just said to go back to what I was using before.

The only thing we can figure out it must be the new Prell doing that. Anyone else have any similar experiences?

I've been using Prell for a few years now, and like it. My hair is very oily and I actually want to dry it out a bit, so for me it's a good fit. there have been a few shampoos I've really liked over the years, but the companies insist on changing the formulas, often just to save them money, not to improve the product though that's what the claim.

There was a Dove shampoo I used for many years and my hair looked and felt the best it ever did, better than when I was using expensive salon products, but they changed the formula and lost me as a customer. I saved the bottle and wrote down the ingredients in the hope that someday I will stumble across a similar product.

It coulad be the Prell along with when you wereso sick and had to take th massive antibodics foryour lung problem and the nedication the Dr's have you on.

In 2008 when I had bad staph bone infection and was on IV infusion for 8 weeks it caused my hair to be dry and have split ends.  It took a few more months for all that to grow out.

I'm with Matt on this one.....

Prell may not be for everyone obviously, but like Matt I too have oily hair. So when it gets dried out by using Prell, it usually balances out. Not too oily, not too dry. If you don't have oily hair, then Prell may not be the best for ya. Sorry to hear it dried yours out Whirlcool :(

I was using the restroom at an auto mechanic's shop and noticed a well-squeezed "professional salon size" tube of Prell concentrated shampoo on the sink. One of the mechanics came in and after the obligatory "How's it goin'?" nod, he proceeded to squeeze about an inch of Prell into his grease-caked hands. He rubbed it in and the stuff plowed through all the grime in under two minutes.

I wonder how it would work as an engine cleaner? :)

You know you may be onto something there. I am still on Predinisone for my breathing problem. I wonder if THAT could be the problem? But I have been on that since March and this is the first time I had this problem with my hair. Maybe it just took time to work on my hair. I would never have thought about this.

I like Prell for the way it cleans and the way it smells. I don't like all those passion fruit/coconut smells a lot of shampoos seem to be adopting over the past few years.

I don't know how long you keep your hair or how often you get your hair cut but normal growth is about 0.5 inch a month.  So figured tht from the first of the year when you got sick you old hair had been cut off and the 5 or 6 month hair is now at the cutting stage,

Grease remover...

Prell is also wonderful at removing grease stains from clothing.  Just add a few drops to the grease stain, rub in well, then wash.  It even gets out old set in grease stains from clothing.

My wife is on her last bottle of Prell Thickening shampoo and would like to find some more.  Please let me know if this version is available in any of your localities, and where.

Aveda....

Been the only shampoo i have been using for over 20 years.  Not cheap but smells really nice and does a nice job on my hair.

And they are a very eco-friendly company.
