Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

ok - hell just froze over

Maybe they forgot to defrost. Lawrence, honey - buy a Sears Kenmore (being sure you get one built by Whirlpool).
40 Years ago I would have said GE or Frigidaire, but was out looking at new refrigerators for my parents this week.
The comparable Sears units seemed a bit better "finished" then the Whirlpool badged units...
And every single salesman and saleswoman (I have decided to battle Political Correctness) INCLUDING the ones selling GE said a used Whirlpool was a better choice than the current GEs.
Gosh!

It is NOT for me

It is for my friend Linn.

My landlord put in a very boring (but so far reliable) Magic Chef.

Secondly, the whole thing has changed. She wants a SxS. White, but SxS.

I'm still thinking Whirlpool made.

You may want to resist any temptation to buy a Maytag refrigerator at the present time.

As I understand it, their refrigerators are actually built by Daewoo, and the Daewoo refrigerators (I have yet to see a Daewoo fridge in North America, but have in Europe) are prone to early breakdown.

I've had surprisingly good luck with top-freezer GE units over the years.

I've been told that Frigidaire quality has been slowly getting better since Electrolux took over, but I can't really substantiate that yet.

I purchased a Whirlpool top-freezer unit for my own kitchen and have been largely disappointed (it's loud, and it has a dark side: it mysteriously picks and chooses random food items, i.e. baked goods, vegetables, etc. in the refrigerated section and FREEZES THEM SOLID! Neither I nor anyone else get why it has launched a jihad on onions and Marzipan Torte-and it's hard to discipline the spirit that lurks within...

I like the Sears models a bit better. It seems like Whirlpool gives Sears their happening models. Still, I had to send a Sears bottom-freezer model back a few years ago because the quality was markedly lower than the one I looked at in Sears Brand Central (the doors opened by themselves-another issue of demonic possession, I guess).

I'm very impressed by the new LG and Samsung models I'm seeing, but they are very feature-laden, and in my opinion, over-priced .

Good luck!
