Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That range looks top of the line! Two ovens, P*7 oven cleaning, a meat thermometer, and a selectable 4/6/8 surface element. Is that element also thermostatic? Does the main oven have a rotisserie? Does the 4/6/8 element also have a "griddle" setting? Do you have the griddle? Do you have the meat probe? It's always exciting to find a range with all of it's accessories--because that almost never happens.

Oh, why don't they make ranges like that anymore!?

Well, I love your dishwasher and am totally jealous of your stove.

hi deeptub
I dont believe it has all that you described (griddle and rottiserie) but it's in amazing condition and since I dont cook much, stays pretty clean :o)

Welcome

yay meat-probe!
*slaps to togs* LOL
Dirty boi! ;-)

Welcome to the club Luis.

Love your kitchen....

so clean! ;-)

Welcome welcome welcome Luis!!! Awesome kitchen and appliances. tom, it appears only the large oven is self-cleaning, I odn't see a lock on the smaller oven. Correct me if I'm wrong. Luis, I love the kitchen table. What's the story on that!! Bob

Welcome Luis,

Not sure how I missed this thread, what a lovely kitchen. My cousin has that same stove and loves it. I too liked the kitchen table. It reminds me of what I grew up with. You will have to post more pics of your wonderful home. Older homes have so much character.

This is a great site and it is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I check at night.

Luis

Long story short: I LOVE your kitchen!!! The colors, the floors! The perfect kitchen for a Mixmaster!!! Now one question. What kind of vacuum cleaner and where is it? (opening doors and peaking around corners) tee hee, Marty

closet

I will never tell. I'll show, yeah, anytime, but NEVER tell. (smile)

Oh vacuums! The newer stuff is put away, like the purple Dyson. Everything else is displayed where I can get to it. All the polished pretty stuff on one side of the room and stuff that needs to be "prettied" up on the other side.

great - thanks!

Thanks for sharing. I love that range. You were right to keep the dishwasher. Shortly after that beauty was built, all US dishwashers were "dumbed" down to a really poor design. The dishwasher and washing machine are two appliances which really require the manufacturer to invest solid money in order to produce a good product - and that just didn't fit into the mentality of the day. Now that the European machines are beginning to make a dent - and let's not forget LG - there are signs the US makers are beginning to wake up. At least they have started importing good stuff and rebadging it. Möge die Götter verhindern, sie stellen es selbst her...

(May the gods prevent them from making it themselves...sorry

...my mistake. Sorry, folks.
That floor is just the bee's knees. Would it be easier to keep clean if you used an anti-static on it? Might cut the dirt attraction a bit.

Bob I should have been more specific, but I was giddy at the time. :) Yes only the "main" oven is P7. I don't think the "companion" ovens ever were self-clean. There probably is an arrangement to remove the liners of the companion oven and clean them in the main oven. I know GE had that setup with the Americana-style ranges. Again, why don't they make anything like this anymore! WAH!

Luis, congratulations and welcome. You are so lucky to have one of the last of the GE top of the line 40 inch ranges. Because kitchens became smaller and had better counterspace, the 40 inch ranges were no longer as popular as they had been in the 40s, 50s and into the 60s, so GE stopped making them and now a GE 40 inch range is a Kelvinator-design made by (what is the name today) White? no, Frigi? no, Electrolux? maybe. They have a side swing door on the companion oven and, compared to the quality of yours, are ready for recycling the day that they roll off the assembly line. I know that you will take very good care of that stove because there is no replacing it. I like your cabinets also. Have fun here.

Again, why don't they make anything like this anymore! W

Give me a 24 inch self-cleaning (P7 = pyrolytic) on the right and the balance of space on the left-side oven and I'm happy.
(One would be little smaller than it was and the other a little larger than it actaully existed). Heck, I'd even take two 20 inch ovens and not complain.

BTW=> I see that Sears has 24 inch wide (60cm) pyrolytic self-clean electric ovens with a smooth-top (vitro-ceram) YAY.
