Out two slice Toastmaster is acting up, only the outer elements heat.

Chrome and white model, it has been trouble free since new, probably mid 90's vintage a least.

Any suggesting for a replacement new or vintage?

-Thanks

Any vintage Toastmaster would be good, even if it's as much as 80 years old.  The late '40s ones are pretty much indestructible.  We had one growing up.  I have an updated version on standby in the basement.  Here's the same type going for $96.  I paid less than $10 for mine several years ago, and it's barely used.

Here's the late '40s style on the same chassis:

I like this style a lot too, and they are solid:

It's probably just a break in the nichrome heating element.  Toasters aren't that hard to fix.  What I recall about taking apart the type in picture 2 of my post above is that getting them back together requires careful alignment of the vertical segments that keep the bread from contacting the elements.

Since the nichrome in a toaster heats up to a red glow, I'm not sure the borax and brass jewelry wire fix is applicable in this case (see link -- scroll down 40 replies or so).  If there's a break near the electrical connection, there might be enough excess wire to simply make a new connection.
