My partner and I had the unfortunate situation of dealing with a broken dryer for several wks so off to the local laundromat to do the laundry. Besides the multitude of different sized front loaders they also had several top loaders which were these Maytag's you are referring to. I chose to do our whites in the MT to see how well it performed. Oddly enough I was very impressed. It actually used HOT water! The machine couldn't even be heard over the other noise which wasn't loud by any means. The machine offers four different cycles. You have temp choice, hot, warm, cold. Second rinse option, or wrinkle guard. You can also extend wash time by a couple of minutes by dropping a few more quarters. The heavy duty cycle uses deepwater wash and rinses. The norm cycle is ECO so the rinse isn't deep water. The only thing you must remember is to have machine set correctly before pushing the start button. Once pushed that's it. No changing any options or anything else until the washer has run thru how it was set.
